The CRKT Pilar has been a firm favourite ever since it was launched and as soon as we saw it our thoughts immediately turned to how great it would be as a non-locking, UK friendly carry knife with, of course, the Heinnie® red G10 scales.
Fast forward to the present and here it is - the CRKT Pilar Heinnie Haynes® UK Edition! All the same features remain that made it such a popular knife in the first place; thick Wharncliff blade, generous thumb hole for opening, low carry pocket clip, perfect size for everyday use and exceptional Voxnaes design. This version is a non-locking slipjoint knife. It's extremely sharp, out of the box, with the red being a vibrant, bright red, perfectly offset with the shiny satin of the blade and metal hardware.

Ok, I’ve just been asked to review the Pilar via email. This is following my second purchase of the knife. The first I ordered a good few months ago and found it a great pocket tool for opening packets boxes and the usual stuff you tend to do with a pocket knife. I then ordered custom scales in brass with a service kit containing phosphor bronze washers. This mad the knife a little slicker but a damn site heavier. The knife looked and felt great in its new clothes but I felt it detracted from it’s light weight pocket friendly everyday user. So, I bought a second one that is now firmly in my edc rotation. Ideal for dirty jobs like recycling the plastics etc, my more expensive uk friendly blades still get used and carried but this little gem will cover most of your knife duties. Both examples were very well put together. Very sharp out the box and very easy to keep that way. It may not be a ‘super steel’ but it’s good enough. Ergonomics are spot on and the blade is held securely enough especially using the coil that’s designed for the purpose. Now if CRTK decided to up the steel to say N690 or even 440c then this little thing would be amazing.

A great little pocket knife. It is sturdy, well put together and feels really good in the hand for such a small knife. He only reason it is not 5* is the break on the slip joint is super soft and if you don’t pay 100% attention it will probably bite you I have had a couple of narrow escapes already

Great looking every day knife. Came perfectly sharp. If you're looking for a nice little EDC pocket knife you can't really go wrong with this.
This is my first edc so I can't compare to others but this has been great for me so far. Easy to use. Feels safe due to sturdy detent and ergonomics. Love it.
