You asked we listened!

The CRKT Pilar has been a firm favourite ever since it was launched and as soon as we saw it our thoughts immediately turned to how great it would be as a non-locking, UK friendly carry knife with, of course, the Heinnie® red G10 scales.

Fast forward to the present and here it is - the CRKT Pilar Heinnie Haynes® UK Edition! All the same features remain that made it such a popular knife in the first place; thick Wharncliff blade, generous thumb hole for opening, low carry pocket clip, perfect size for everyday use and exceptional Voxnaes design. This version is a non-locking slipjoint knife. It's extremely sharp, out of the box, with the red being a vibrant, bright red, perfectly offset with the shiny satin of the blade and metal hardware.

A great version of the Pilar

Posted by Iman American on 18th Oct 2020

I own several Pilars and the Heinnie Haynes version is a great variation of this design. I like the clip better than the standard factory version. Since the UK legal version does not have the framelock feature, the clip does not need to act as an over-travel stop. This allows for a thinner and in my opinion much nicer looking and more discreet pocket clip. Other than that the excellent Jesper Voxnaes design is basically unchanged. Although this is a slip-joint, the substantial finger choil prevents accidental closure and finger injury, and the ergonomics are superb, especially for such a small (but beefy) pocket knife. Service from Heinnie Haynes was impeccable as well; I could barely believe how quickly this arrived from overseas.

Great knife, even better after one little modification

Posted by Dominic on 14th Oct 2020

This knife has lots of similar features to the CRKT Journeyer which I loved, until I lost it about 3 months ago. Easy to open close with one hand and in one swift motion, nice grip, big thumb hole for easy opening and a very positive detent when opening. Only thing I had to do to make this a great knife is a little modification to the handle scales so I could carry this tip up, a drill file and a bit of 500 grit sandpaper was all I needed and now it's perfect

    Exclusive and Nice Design

    Posted by 0Ranc0 on 11th Oct 2020

I find this version of the pilar more gentleman carry than the back frame lock details of the original version. And still the original blade form of Voxnaes Design. Great little carry. Could be more sharp out of the box. Needed a little sharpening...

    Great little EDC pocket knife

Posted by Andrew Wallington on 26th Sep 2020

I love this little knife - it is pleasing to the eye, feels great in the hand, it sits deep in the pocket thanks to the high clip and it is sharp out of the box. Two issues you might want to consider though: 1) being smaller in size makes one handed opening more awkward but with a little practice it is possible but you aren’t going to win any awards for speed or elegance 2) I tend to go for knives with a finger choil for added protection given that a locking knife is a no-no for EDC in the UK. The issue with the Pilar is that there is no blunt step between the choil and the blade as there is on, say the Boker Plus XS Satin. This can make the Pilar uncomfortable, if your not careful, if the blade starts to close on your index finger. I will probably grind a small flat section on that part of the choil. Having said all that this is a good looking little knife, very useful, discreet in your pocket and a great price. Service from HH as always is unbelievably good and unrivalled in my experience

    A perfect EDC knife

Posted by Jack White on 19th Sep 2020

First of all, the ergonomic design of this knife is perfect, holding it in the hand feels completely natural, Jesper Voxnaes has done an exceptional job with the design of this blade. Although being a smaller knife, the utility it provides hugely outweighs it's size, making for a confidence inspiring feeling in the hand. You truly are getting a lot for your money with this pocket knife, and aswell as that, it's designed to be used, and can keep up with the use. All that perfomance for a price tag 1/3 of what you should be paying. If you need a knife to take everywhere with you without knowing its there and do just about any EDC task with comfort then this is the knife you need.
