Four elements come together to produce a knife of real significance. Heinnie Haynes®, CRKT, Richard Rogers and UK legal carry have combined to produce this worldwide exclusive of CRKT's CEO knife.
The DNA remains the same, it is a Richard Rogers knife at heart but with certain elements changed to make it legal to carry within the UK. It is non-locking, the blade has a been shortened to 7.5cm and the thumb stud has been replaced with a nail nick.
The design elements from a high end pen aesthetic and lubed ball bearings in the pivot to reduce friction remain. The IKBS deploys the satin-finished stainless steel blade smoothly which then softly clicks into place. It has a deep carry pocket clip attached to the Glass Reinforced Nylon handle.

Very well made every day carry and sharp too ?
I've liked the look of the CEO for some time, but as my work is moving away from somewhere I can justify a locker I hadn't dropped the cash. The EDC variant obviously changed this and I'm pleased it did. The knife comes acceptably sharp, looks and feels good in the hand and has a really nice action, the detents almost making the open and closed stops feel like you have clicked two magnets together. The blade is perfectly centered and moves smoothly on the bearings. There's nothing negative to say about this knife at this price point, nice one.
Yes this knife has been somewhat compromised to make it UK legal but I’m very impressed with the quality considering the price. I was worried about the nail nick but it is absolutely fine thanks to the smooth deployment of the blade. i am confident this will be a great EDC alternative to my Spyderco UKPK when I want a smaller knife for urban cutting tasks like opening packages. Service and delivery were excellent as usual.
This could have been brilliant, but it's not. I see what HH were trying to do here, but removing the thumb stud and putting in a nail dent ruins the entire design and function of the knife. Thumb studs are perfectly legal for pocket knives. There is no reason whatsoever for HH to get rid of that excellent feature, it's just them giving more ground and unnecessarily restricting once again the range of options available for knife users in the UK. The smaller blade is OK. It's a bit flimsy, but not bad. The clip is ill thought out and not reversible. This is a real missed opportunity. I kept mine for a couple of days and then sold it on. HH has got to up their game. Stop removing legal features from knives and stop forgetting about left handed folk.
The HH version of the CRKT CEO has the plus points of being very sleek and stylish plus it's UK legal to carry. The down side to what is a very slim sharp slicy blade is that it doesn't feel robust (but that is not what this knife is about). My main gripe is that very little pressure is required to close the blade so it can drop on you fingers. if you are not careful. I doubt you can use the knife for anything other than opening envelopes.
Superb looking knife, beautiful build and quality, not used it yet just keep playing with it, might freak some non-knife people if you pulled it out in front of them but I love it.
Lovely little knife , doing well so far , thanks to HH for great service
Loved the design of the original CEO and wanted to ve able to carry it everyday. Luckily thus version was available. Although being slightly shorter and without the active bearings it keeps its aesthetic appeal and is completely unobtrusive clipped to my trouser or shirt pocket. It does require two hands to open, unlike it's bigger brother, but for my intended use I'm happy with this. The Blade was sharp out the box.
