Spyderco Heinnie Haynes® UK Penknife G10 18

Had this thing for over 6 months, carried and used daily apart from a few rare exceptions. Pleased to see others are appreciating the knife and the one guy who claims to have three of them that have suffered weakening in the back spring is on his own with his views. But he doesn't like the Spyderco wire clip either, and his hands thought the G10 was a bit sharp at the edges. It was his review that made me carry this daily for 6 months before commenting on the curious spring. Spyderco had some problems with a split spring breaking on the lightweight models. As usual it was dealt with professionally by Spyderco, and this spring has been redesigned. My knife is not pocket jewellery, it's snapped open and shut in use many times a day. One of the best Spyderco/dealer collaborations I've seen.

I bought this knife about 6 months ago now used it all summer whittling wood in the yard, a quick touch up on the sharpmaker once a week keeps the steel shaving sharp, I also use it for prepping food and every day jobs around the house, I carry this blade almost every day now. My meagre knife collection presently consists of about ten UK legal knives, ranging in price from £20 to about £250. Despite the above, previously, I never held the desire to own any of the knives made by Spyderco. Although I had read a number of positive reviews generally, the aesthetics simply did not appeal. That is until Heinnie piqued my interest with this model. Every Heinnie collaboration I have owned has resulted in an excellent knife and seeing the positive reviews for this one stacking up, I persuaded myself to take the plunge. I am glad I did. Notwithstanding the magnificent service by HH, this is truly an exceptional knife and the quality surpasses some that I own which are almost triple the price. The scales and liner are beautifully finished and the blade steel is excellent. The key winning feature is the safety stop' on the blade. It is incredibly robust (the best I have seen) and I would not be worried about it closing on my fingers accidentally. At this price, this truly is an amazing and truly exceptional knife that begs to be used and is certainly worthy of any collection!

I got this one for my Grandad's birthday and I ordered the standard black one for myself and I have to say this one is far better it feels solid I would really recommend getting this one over the standard version although the standard one is really good as well. Of all the countless pocket knives I've used and owned over the years, this may be the most satisfying to use. Build quality feels like a far more expensive knife, the design is gorgeous. Easy to open, stiff but not too stiff to close. This is a slipjoint you feel very safe using. I trust Spyderco pretty well of course, but at this point if I see Heinnie Haynes putting their name to a knife, I know it's going to be something special with unassailable quality and I want it. As always, service and delivery from HH is simply better than anyone else in the business.

I was delighted with this knife at first, and posted a review immediately. After using it for a couple of months, I still think it's the best UK legal pocket knife. Previously I used the black handled standard UK Spyderco, which just feels a bit flimsy now, in comparison. But the original is noticeably lighter, and basically unnoticeable in a trouser pocket, which is an advantage. Another review says that the relatively stiff slip lock has loosened after use. I haven't found this, and actually it's quite stiff to get used to closing with one hand. While using the original UK, which is a light lock, it slipped a few times and I was sure I'd cut myself, but never had - the choil works. On the HH, it hasn't slipped yet. But it's essential to hold it correctly in case. The ergonomics are very good in that way, and comfortable. I really like the colour. It's burgundy. Enough said. I need another to keep boxed in case they stop making them.

i have had this knife for sever weeks and carry it every day , I use the knife for stick making . general cutting , and i now find myself using it as a kitchen knife !!!! the knife is sharp out of the box , and holds its edge well , just a quick touch up occasionally. its discrete in the pocket and with the red handle does not look aggressive. i am very pleased with the knife and would recommend to all my first but not last spyderco

This is such an amazing knife! I usually hate slip joints but I wanted a great knife that I could carry and yet be legal and Spyderco and HH did it. You cannot cut yourself with it and that is just the best thing. Fantastic ergonomics. light weight and slim, excellent finish, G10 scales, S30V metal and a deep carry pocket clip... the best legal knife I love to carry. I just love it, what are you waiting for? get one! Thank you HH for a great and quick service.

Got this one before they become unavailable, to go with my S110v version,.. This is heavier, and the spring is much stonger. The G 10 has sharp edges, which can be smoothed easily with wet and dry. The blade spine was also very sharp, so now I've rounded that as well .. So, to sum up, this is a heavy duty, strong, high quality knife, which can be legally carried in England, and can be opened and closed with one hand. Just thought I'd mention, it needs a little tlc, to make it truly great, (mine did, anyway).. At least the edge bevels are equal, which is more than can be said for my S110v blade.. Superb HH delivery as usual... Yep, I'm happy...
