It's a survival knife, not a camp knife
The shere thickness of this is reassuring, and helps it be a splitting wedge, but the balance is, well, cumbersome. I have much larger kives that still feel spry, but this feels kind of clumsy. As a survival knife, I think it is just fine, I have fortunately not put it in a real world test in that regard, but I'd be happy to pack it for this purpose. As an expedition or camp knife, it is not as comfortable, or pleasant to sue as something like an SRK (to which it is mysteriously similar). I like the grind, I like the steel, but I don't like the feel. I am confident it would get me out of trouble after a plane crash, but it doesn't get used at camp, as pretty much every knife I have in this size (many much cheaper) are nicer to use for that. That said, it will do it all, if you need it to. Mine now stays in my survival kit.
