The Heinnie Haynes® series of exclusive editions in association with some of the knife world's most respected makers continues with the Spyderco Urban Heinnie® Edition.
What does the Heinnie® red stand for? Responsible, law abiding knife ownership in the UK. Over the years we have built up a line of red handle knives which conform to the UK knife laws: the blade doesn't lock and is under 7.6cm (3ins) long.
The Spyderco Urban Heinnie® Edition is the latest addition to this line. It was already one of the most popular knives in the Spyderco line up due to it's perfect carrying and using size and now has the famous red G10 treatment.
Carry your Heinnie® red knife with pride.

I have the standard Urban and is my favourite EDC knife so when I saw the Heinnie Hayes special in red with better blade steel it was a must buy knife. It's a little thicker than the standard one and the red grips are very nice. The action and half stop seem more solid than before but I like it. This knife slice's for fun and has replaced the standard Urban as my EDC. Grab yourself one, you won't be disappointed. As always top service from Heinnie Hayes.
Pricey but nice. Sharp, well finished, scales a bit coarser texture than HH UKPK N
A bit problematic, this one. Thumb jimping perfect, forefinger not too good. Backspring and scales not flush, but only by a finger nail scrape. Blade grinds even, and hair shaving sharp. I’m aware of many problems with this edition, but I seem to have got one of the better ones . It’s UK legal, and a user for me. Expensive for poor F&F
Brilliant pocket knife. G10 is has a lot of grip. The choil and thumb ramp make cutting feel really safe and secure. The half stop and the spring generally are strong. Can be closed one handed but feels a bit safer doing it with two.
I saw this on the HH website and snapped one up immediately as I own a SV110 UKPK that is fantastic and thought the HH Urban would be a great addition to my collection. To be honest, I was, and still am, underwhelmed by this special edition offering from HH. It looks all very nice with the red scales and all but for the size is just too damn heavy, blade stock too thick, was not that sharp out of the box and the finish, considering the price HH is charging, leaves allot to be desired. The blade has not been finished well, and as such there are sharp edges on the blade spine and the spydie hole, unlike my UKPK and other spyderco's. Action however is excellent and ergo's are fine. I'm sorry HH but I feel this should be 80 quid tops, not the 120 that you are charging. I will keep this as I am a bit of a collector but if I knew what I know now, I would not re purchase. UKPK a much better knife in my opinion.
I’ve long adored the Urban as a model and owned pretty much every version from the standard N690 through to the BBlades Elmax version, K390 sprint etc. As such this one was really exciting to see released and ordered two (now both returned) Have a look on Facebook at the relevant groups to see what Spyderco fans are saying about this one but here’s a short list of issues: The blade is shorter than the standard urban. The secondary edge grind seems to be uneven and poorly done on the majority of them. The backspring dips notably on some. The g10 is very rough and overly grippy. The jimping is often “wobbly” and looks as though the S90v was causing tooling problems. The box reads s30v. It seems most Spyderco fans on the groups found such issues and the majority have returned them. Certainly a knife that cannot justify its current pricepoint.
I snapped this up as soon as it landed. Over the standard N690/FRN Urban it's a massive step up. The texture of the G10 scales is quite grippy, the grippiest I have received on any Spyderco I've owned. Love the crimson red colouring too. as for the steel - I have up to this point not owned an S90V blade, so I can't critique it's overall practicality, but I've heard good things no less. The knife is seemingly no more heavier than the FRN version, any difference would seem purely negligible and not worth contemplating. Heinnie Haynes - PLEASE try to get another G10 variant of this particular knife. Preferably in S35VN or M390, they would sell like nobodies business!
Love it , my new EDC , great size weight and super sharp
