Description

The Heinnie Haynes® series of exclusive editions in association with some of the knife world's most respected makers continues with the Spyderco Urban Heinnie® Edition.

What does the Heinnie® red stand for? Responsible, law abiding knife ownership in the UK. Over the years we have built up a line of red handle knives which conform to the UK knife laws: the blade doesn't lock and is under 7.6cm (3ins) long.

The Spyderco Urban Heinnie® Edition is the latest addition to this line. It was already one of the most popular knives in the Spyderco line up due to it's perfect carrying and using size and now has the famous red G10 treatment.

Carry your Heinnie® red knife with pride.

Hh Spyderco urban - massively overpriced

Posted by Viking one on 7th Jul 2021

Wow they got this one wrong. Seen people saying they are happy to put a new edge on and sand down the terrible scales. S90v only reason to get this version. Had to send mine back not paying £120 for something sub standard.

    Heinnie Spyderco Urban

Posted by Jon on 6th Jul 2021

I was pleased to see a spyderco blade appear as a HH edition as I’d been led to believe they were quality. Oh dear. In my opinion the poorest of the HH knives I’ve bought. The wire clip, which fits badly, and the scales look cheap. I’ve never had a non locking knife that’s so hard to shut, it’s much too stiff. I’m not even convinced by the blade edge, it’s enough to peel fruit but failed at taking a cutting from a bush. So overall a poor choice for the money. You could get three of the excellent HH CRKT Pilar knives for this price. Now that is a good knife and so nice in the hand, so buy that one and save your cash!!

    Almost great

Posted by Mark on 6th Jul 2021

I have another urban. Jumped at this HH special. The steel is a welcome upgrade. But I’m not 100% on the fit and finish. The scales are too scratchy and the open/close is quite stiff - I’m hoping this loosens up a touch. This Spydy is my favourite UK legal size it is completely perfect, I’m not convinced of the Heinnie improvement. The above are niggles and it’s certainly a recommended purchase, but you might feel as I do that the fit and finish isn’t quite there for its £120 price tag.

A great little knife with a perfect opening/closing mechanism that makes a welcome addition to the other Spyderco knives I own.

Thank you HH for bringing this to market, as a EDC'er and Spyderco collector it was a must, not 5 stars as it is not perfect but then I dont expect it to be a custom either. Very well made and put together in Italy. Fast delivery and great communication

    Worst QC for price.

Posted by Michael on 5th Jul 2021

So I bought 3 of these urbans, one to use one for the collection and one to modify, all three had the worst edge I’ve ever seen - stevie wonder could have done better. The jimping was all over the show, the backspring was recessed in within the g10, the spydiehole was shockingly rough overall the workmanship out in to this piece was somewhat disappointing. For £120 they had to go back. Luckily HH customer service is 5star and had it returned and refunded within a few days but I’m still salty over the urban because I wanted one and the only way I will justify having one now is if they are heavily reduced in price. Please sort it out HH / Spyderco this was a major major fail.

    Good, not great.

Posted by Stefan Weaver on 5th Jul 2021

Having the UKPK and the Squeak, I thought I'd go for the in-between as well. Size is perfect for EDC, scales are very gripping. The main disappointment was the factory sharpness. Although possibly spoilt with razor sharpness in the past, from this brand and price-point to struggle to cut normal paper out the box was a shock... Looks like I got one of the worse ones.
