Description

It's back! The return of a legend.

For years, Heinnie fans have asked, hoped, and waited for the return of this true classic. The Spyderco UK Penknife G10 wasn’t just one of our exclusives — it became a legend, our best-ever seller, and a firm favourite among collectors and everyday users alike. Now, after far too long, it’s back.

An exclusive is a special configuration of an established Spyderco model. Although multiple runs may be made, as its name implies, this, the Spyderco C94GRD UK Penknife Red G10 CPM S30V Exclusive is unique to Heinnie Haynes and only available through us.

Spyderco developed the UK Penknife after the United Kingdom prohibited the carry of folding knives with locking blades. Its refined design combines the defining features of Spyderco’s revolutionary CLIPIT knives with an improved, non-locking, notch joint mechanism. The resulting hybrid, known as a SLIPIT, elevates the functionality of trhe traditional non-locking pocket knife while remaining socially and legally friendly.

Made in the USA at Spyderco’s factory in Golden, Colorado, this exclusive expression of the UKPK showcases a leaf shaped blade crafted from premium CPM S30V particle metallurgy stainless steel. The plain edge blade is full-flat ground for exceptional edge geometry and is proudly laser engraved with the Heinnie ‘H’.

Not to be outdone, the handle of this knife features distinctive red G10 scales with a non slip peel ply texture. They complement the jimping (textured grooves) on the blade's thumb ramp and index finger choil to ensure a positive grip and outstanding control during use.

A truly unique expression of an iconic Spyderco design, this exclusive UK Penknife is sure to appeal to both end users and discriminating collectors alike.

    Very Happy Boy

Posted by Kim on 27th Mar 2019

Well, HH have done it yet again. Their legendary service has delivered today the knife I ordered around midday yesterday, fantastic service. Other company's take note. The knife is to Spyderco's usual engineering excellence and the hint of HH's input in the form of th 'H' logo etched onto the blade. Fit and finish all look very good. The back spring is the tuning fork type and not the solid back spring from UKPK's of old. I would imagine they have re-engineered the heat treat of the spring to avoid premature failure, time will tell. The red G10 scales feel good in the hand, nice and grippy and the CPM s30v blade as you'd expect is scary sharp. Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase and look forward to reading reviews from others that made this purchase.

    Outstanding

Posted by Gregor King on 27th Mar 2019

I've owned several UKPKs over the years and held countless more, and without a doubt the few of these I received today from HH are the best examples of any UKPK, period. The new generation grippy G10, tuning-fork CQI full-length backspring and brilliant Golden fit-and-finish make this a pleasure to own - I look forward to using it for years to come, and cannot wait to hand the others I bought to friends who I know will appreciate these too! All came perfectly centred, with perfect spring tension; easy to sweep open, no blade-rock when deployed and able to be spine-fired closed by pushing the spine with your index finger. Blade is beautifully ground, bevels are even, tip is a scalpel and the whole assemble runs of phosphor bronze washers. At just £10 more (on HH) than the standard BD1 FRN version, this far superior CQI reintroduction of the classic S30V G10 version is an easy choice to make. One of the best UK carry friendly folders currently in production - Thanks to both Spyderco and HH for bringing about this exclusive.

Like the UKPK? you will love this!

Posted by keefo on 27th Mar 2019

I saw, I liked, I ordered one! , I have the regular UKPK in black with the CTS BD1 steel and liked it so this was a no brainer. The S30 V steel will hold an edge for a long time but you will need to be careful that you don't hit anything hard with the blade, sv30 has excellent edge retaining properties but will chip if you abuse it. I love the g10 handles which are so much better I feel than the FRN ones which were ok but didn't like the flexy handles much. The best thing about this knife is that the spring extends all the way down the handle to the base rather than the half way point on the regular UKPK and the blade needs more pressure to open and close than the super slick and easy to disengage regular version. In short if you like the UKPK then you will most certainly appreciate the fabulous upgrade that is the Hennie edition and only a tenner more than the regular one!

    Praise from a Spyderco hater!

Posted by Slick Slicers on 6th Mar 2019

To be fair, I don't hate Spyderco, I've just never been attracted to them. Though I'm a pretty serious knife collector, I'd only ever owned one, an FRN man bug. I gave it to my wife and someone stole it from her at work. I replaced it with a Kershaw and she saw it as an upgrade! But now this! G10, a slipjoint and S30v and all for seventy odd quid... not bad. I made a YouTube video praising its virtues and it is very good. However, it's found almost no pocket time. Why? It just doesn't float my boat! The G10 is harsh, the jimping bitey and the blade shape aggressive. The colour is nice, relatively subdued and the clip is almost the best ever. I like my knives smooth and love in hand and beautiful to the eye. This isn't that, but it's very functional. I'd go for the Manly Wasp, but I wouldn't fault anyone who chose this.

Ordered yesterday and received today - Heinnies usual superb service - I have used them many times and their service cannot be faulted !

    Use everyday

Posted by Tret ur sen on 6th Jan 2019

For me this is the best knife I can use everyday without it having a lock or being fixed blade, on sale for a reasonable price which means it will definitely get used without my wallet sweating. Mind you someone borrowed it to fit some lino and the edge was rollier than A Greggs sausage roll delivery, must have hit every screw head in the floor, little bit of sharpening and a strop, good as new. The slip joint mechanism will need a clean and an oil every so often and this keeps the lock out into the open position nice snappy and positive. Very nice knife, thanks Heinnie and thanks Spyderco now can you just do the same to the urban.
