The Snugpak® Ionosphere™ is an extremely small, compact one-person tent. With a two-pole, easy to pitch design, the tent forms a hooped shelter that keeps condensation build-up to a minimum. The inner tent is made of a No-See-Um Mesh Mosquito Net to not only keep out bugs, snakes, etc. but it can also be used without the fly as a stand-alone mosquito shelter/barrier in the summer months and warmer climates.

The Ionosphere™ will shelter you from all but the worst inclement weather, with a 5000mm hydrostatic head (HH) polyurethane (PU) coated fly sheet, with taped seams. The Ionosphere™ has an impressive floor space, measuring 240cm/94” long and 90cm/35” wide, creating ample room for a single person with some equipment. In an emergency, the Ionosphere™ can accommodate two people.

The low profile Ionosphere™ tent packs down small with a light trail weight of 1200g / 42oz. Using tried and tested lightweight DAC® aluminium poles, it does not take up valuable space in your pack. The Ionosphere™ is ideal to use when light weight and small pack size are essential.

A tried and tested favourite of Hill and Moorland Leaders, Mountain Leaders and Military Personnel where more robust protection from the weather elements is required.

Very happy with this product, which has already been tested in the back garden. It will provide my main form of accommodation whilst completing The Pennine Way in May of this year.

To be honest, I've been a bit wary with regards to Snugpak gear. I've had one of their backpacks, which ripped after two days; I have the SF bivvi, which works well but came with a hole which had been patched up in-factory and is very expensive, and I have their self-inflating mattress, which (so far) works well, but I've read a couple of bad reviews since buying it. Having said all this, the Ionosphere seems to have none of these issues. I was looking for a decent quality, reliable, light and sturdy one-man backpacking tent and I found it. There are lots of reviews on the internet about the Ionosphere, so I won't go into too much detail about it here, but suffice it to say that this is the one to buy. In fact, it's becoming somewhat of a legend. And rightly so. It's very well made, sturdy, quality materials, great design, comes with 16 (!) lightweight but strong aluminium stakes, packs down very small and is incredibly light; it has two quality, pre-bent and colour coded poles, it's surprisingly roomy inside and even the stuff sack is quality. Very good material, adjustable and doubles up as a dry bag. It also comes with a repair kit (which you probably won't need, but it's good to have and a nice touch - peace of mind). It just shouts "quality", and it gives you the feeling you have something there you can rely on when you're out in inhospitable terrain an unpredictable weather. Worth every penny.

Just what was looking for really light weight but also very strong. Enough room for bag and boots, maybe another person although it would be a tight squeeze. Pegs are awesome very strong construction, could have done with a few more pegs will have to purchase more as not enough to completely peg down tent.Very very fast delivery from heinnie as usual, cheers heinnie for trouble free service.
