The folding Bowie knife is a clever design, effectively giving you two knives in one. The blade and guard both fold out into a large Bowie knife and lock securely. They can then be folded back to the smaller fixed blade size and placed into the leather sheath.

    Bowie folder

Fast service as usual from HH, the knife is stunning, great fun to play with & very sharp OTB. It's a lot bigger than I thought it would be when opened, love the swing guard action, & comes with a nice leather sheath.

    Highly collectable

This design is a "dague a la d'Estaing" (from a French knifemaker back in the 18th century I believe), a dual purpose hunter knife. Unfolded, it is a dagger to finish off game, folder, it is a utility knife to process said game. I am no hunter so I bought this for the mechanism, as a collectable. I am not sure it is very practical for anything else other than the hunting scenario but it looks cool and is a good conversation starter. Very nicely made for the price point, nice sheath, sharp out of the box.

Service is perfect shame about the knife.Close inspection reveals a few flaws;the pins on the scales were not peened close enough to hold everything together tight,at the spine of the handle there was a small crack running from one of the pins to the edge of the scales, the blade had a small amount of play side to side and lastly the lock release catch flaps about scratching the bolster, this also failed to pop forward on opening and closing the blade. Its pivot pin is bent and the hole for the pivot pin has been drilled out on a slight angle and too close to the front edge so that on one side the hole has only just broken through the steel.Though most of the issues were sorted with epoxy resin a small flat ended punch and a peening hammer the only one I haven't done anything with is the lock release catch pin and the housing for the pin.The sheath is very sturdy and a good tight fit to the knife. These issues could not have been prevented by Heinnie as the box and contents are sealed.

What a purdy looking knife. The finish is excellent. Nice stag scales and nickel bolsters. The blade is sharp and locks securely. The sheath is well made and the leather is good. Ideal knife for the collector and also for general use. Good value for the money.

    What a knife!

Waited a long time for this one to come back in stock at HH's. When I got a massage it was in, I "jumped" on it and don't regret my buy. Well sharp straight out of the box, good fit and finish - no bladeplay, which is remarkable for a knife with this kind of mechanism. Minus one star for the mechansim lever, which "flops" around and scratches the bolster. All in all great value for money; a real useable knife; HH's service as usual first class.

What a great piece of equipment for money. I bought the knife as new from a military market trader as I'm a gun and knife collector.

Love it. Just the ticket. I don't know how they do it for the price.

What a beautiful knife, even the sheath is top quality. this is a fantastic price for a quality piece of kit, my son wants one now, even when it folds into a smaller knife I was surprised at the size of it. Well recommended for any knife collector. by dean and lawrence

    Marbles folding bowie

Posted by Gary prentice on 29th Jan 2011

You'll love this one, polished steel, nickel silver, brass, stag, heavy leather enclosed sheath with embossed decoration, and a folding mechanism/locking device, what's more to want in boys toys, 2 formats, a 4 inch blade in the unlocked position, and a 7 1/2 inch in the opened position with cross guard locked, beautiful quality from marbles of America, made in China, and none the worse for this, in fact all the better, at £38 a steal, buy while u can. Happy collecting.
