This is a nice folding Bowie knife good quality and feels nice in your hand very pleased with my purchase. I have purchased quite a few knifes from this company and we continue to
Really nice quality and interesting knife. A real conversation starter with friends, especially with the unique mechanism. I was expecting a little bit of play in the blade but there really isn't any considering how it works. A must for any collector or outdoorsman
This knife is a gem.Very well made and everything is tight , nothing shoddy about it.It is exactly like the original. It fits in the hand well and the balance is really good. A must for any collector.
Fast service as usual from HH, the knife is stunning, great fun to play with & very sharp OTB. It's a lot bigger than I thought it would be when opened, love the swing guard action, & comes with a nice leather sheath.
This design is a "dague a la d'Estaing" (from a French knifemaker back in the 18th century I believe), a dual purpose hunter knife. Unfolded, it is a dagger to finish off game, folder, it is a utility knife to process said game. I am no hunter so I bought this for the mechanism, as a collectable. I am not sure it is very practical for anything else other than the hunting scenario but it looks cool and is a good conversation starter. Very nicely made for the price point, nice sheath, sharp out of the box.
Service is perfect shame about the knife.Close inspection reveals a few flaws;the pins on the scales were not peened close enough to hold everything together tight,at the spine of the handle there was a small crack running from one of the pins to the edge of the scales, the blade had a small amount of play side to side and lastly the lock release catch flaps about scratching the bolster, this also failed to pop forward on opening and closing the blade. Its pivot pin is bent and the hole for the pivot pin has been drilled out on a slight angle and too close to the front edge so that on one side the hole has only just broken through the steel.Though most of the issues were sorted with epoxy resin a small flat ended punch and a peening hammer the only one I haven't done anything with is the lock release catch pin and the housing for the pin.The sheath is very sturdy and a good tight fit to the knife. These issues could not have been prevented by Heinnie as the box and contents are sealed.
What a purdy looking knife. The finish is excellent. Nice stag scales and nickel bolsters. The blade is sharp and locks securely. The sheath is well made and the leather is good. Ideal knife for the collector and also for general use. Good value for the money.
Waited a long time for this one to come back in stock at HH's. When I got a massage it was in, I "jumped" on it and don't regret my buy. Well sharp straight out of the box, good fit and finish - no bladeplay, which is remarkable for a knife with this kind of mechanism. Minus one star for the mechansim lever, which "flops" around and scratches the bolster. All in all great value for money; a real useable knife; HH's service as usual first class.
What a great piece of equipment for money. I bought the knife as new from a military market trader as I'm a gun and knife collector.
