Where minimal design meets maximum utility.

The CRKT Pilar™ is a super compact everyday carry folder (law dependent on your country) with distinctive minimalist design and an epic tale behind its name. It’s low profile and understated when tucked away, and carefully designed to punch above its weight when in use.

Jesper Voxnaes designed the Pilar™ in his Logstrup, Denmark shop, and named it after Ernest Heming-way’s beloved sailboat—the 38-foot long vessel that he used for renegade surveillance of German U-boats during WWII in Caribbean waters. The world-famous author was also a WWI vet, big-game hunter, sailor, and fisherman, and certainly would have selected an everyday knife companion like the Pilar™ for his daily endeavors.

The 2.4” flat grind blade features a satin finish and the fine, but strong tip is useful for more detailed tasks. It’s deployed from its stainless steel handle with a thumb slot opening mechanism and is secured with a frame lock for your safety.

The modern Hemingway is the ultimate Renaissance man, and the Pilar™ is the knife that will stand up to the challenge.

    Amazing

I waited a very long time to get this and it didn't disappoint.
Excellent product matched with excellent service once again from everyone at Heinnie Haynes

    Good solid knife

Posted by Rachael on 25th Jul 2019

Had mine a couple of days now thanks to Heinnie's warp factor delivery speed .
This is a good solid knife ,yes it is on the heavy side but still ok in the hand I usually like tip up carry but found for me it left to much of the knife showing out the pocket so I left it on tip down ,came very sharp out the box and is fun to open and close one hand if you do the middle finger spidie fl*ck .
I like this knife and will be using it a lot but I so wish it was non locking which would make it perfect for uk edc

    Meaty. Sexy. In love.

Posted by Jock on 2nd Jan 2019

Decided my ontario rat of 3 plus years was due changing (nothing wrong other than a bit big) and came across this..

Love it.. I have big hands and fits lovely.
Fits into my pocket without being hugely bulky.
Nice an strong not just for its size, but believe it would withstand the same abuse that my rat has had on a daily basis with no issues.

    Highly recommended.

Highly in love with Crkt in general.

I would really love a Pilar large d2 black.. If only they made a UK legal one.

HH were spot on with my questions and delivery was ridiculously quick.
    Great customer service.
Looking forward to expanding my new Knife obsession.
    Thanks HH!

    I need my Pilar

Posted by Sage on 3rd Oct 2017

I now have my Pilar thanks to HH subsonic delivery service, wait for the boom.
I had to have a chuckle as the Strider Custom MSC Jibble and the CRKT Pilar are on the same page top left and right and they do look more than a little similar but you cant say that for the price as I could purchase 36 Pilars for the cost of one Jibble.
The fit , finish and ergonomics of the Pilar are most excellent with a very appealing weight factor.
    Less Jibble and more Pilar.

    1st imperssions

Posted by Darin on 3rd Sep 2017

I got this blade this morning, Heinnies delivery is supernaturally fast as usual, and it made me grin as soon as I opened it.
Surprisingly heavy but at the same time reassuringly solid, this small blade has perfect ergonomics, it is so comfy. The Voxnaes design is my first of the designers, but after this review, I'm ordering another of his designs. The blade is hair popping sharp and is perfect for an edc blade. It it was non locking, it would be THE perfect UK edc blade. Buy one now.

    Stunning

Posted by Dave B on 3rd Aug 2017

Usual great service from HH. The knife is small but has a good sized chill so makes it very easy to use.
It is built like a tank, smooth opening and solid lock up.
    Highly recommend.

Posted by Robbie c on 6th Jul 2017

Nice size little knife. Cheap enough to not worry about losing though I'd have to buy another straight away. Good and sharp . Need to make a slip joint version. Perfect everyday Carry then . Get on it crkt. You would have a best seller on your hands .
