The CRKT Pilar™ is a super compact everyday carry folder (law dependent on your country) with distinctive minimalist design and an epic tale behind its name. It’s low profile and understated when tucked away, and carefully designed to punch above its weight when in use.
Jesper Voxnaes designed the Pilar™ in his Logstrup, Denmark shop, and named it after Ernest Heming-way’s beloved sailboat—the 38-foot long vessel that he used for renegade surveillance of German U-boats during WWII in Caribbean waters. The world-famous author was also a WWI vet, big-game hunter, sailor, and fisherman, and certainly would have selected an everyday knife companion like the Pilar™ for his daily endeavors.
The 2.4” flat grind blade features a satin finish and the fine, but strong tip is useful for more detailed tasks. It’s deployed from its stainless steel handle with a thumb slot opening mechanism and is secured with a frame lock for your safety.

I had to have a chuckle as the Strider Custom MSC Jibble and the CRKT Pilar are on the same page top left and right and they do look more than a little similar but you cant say that for the price as I could purchase 36 Pilars for the cost of one Jibble. The fit , finish and ergonomics of the Pilar are most excellent with a very appealing weight factor. Less Jibble and more Pilar.
I got this blade this morning, Heinnies delivery is supernaturally fast as usual, and it made me grin as soon as I opened it. Surprisingly heavy but at the same time reassuringly solid, this small blade has perfect ergonomics, it is so comfy. The Voxnaes design is my first of the designers, but after this review, I'm ordering another of his designs. The blade is hair popping sharp and is perfect for an edc blade. It it was non locking, it would be THE perfect UK edc blade. Buy one now.
Usual great service from HH. The knife is small but has a good sized chill so makes it very easy to use. It is built like a tank, smooth opening and solid lock up. Highly recommend.
Nice size little knife. Cheap enough to not worry about losing though I'd have to buy another straight away. Good and sharp . Need to make a slip joint version. Perfect everyday Carry then . Get on it crkt. You would have a best seller on your hands .

This CRKT looks and feels like a knife worth ten times as much as it cost.Incredibly smooth opening and a solid lockup.It is a little on the heavy size but that doesn't detract from the fact that this is a solid quality knife.It feels like it would last a lifetime.Very sharp out of the box as well.
Another great voxnaes design. Have a few of his knives from a couple of different brands. They are a solid well thought out design . A slip joint legal to carry of this would be a fantastic knife. Thanks as well to to heinnie for the help and a chat about knives !
