The Buck 661 Pursuit Pro Small Folding hunting knife combines a highly visible, sure grip handle with Buck’s high end S35VN steel. Buck’s S35VNsteel provides the same edge retention as S30V steel but its properties allow it to resharpen more easily, making it a great choice for skinning multiple animals with the option of field sharpening when necessary. This knife easily opens with one hand using the thumbstuds.The blade is secured with a lock back mechanism for safe use. The comfortable, contoured handle reduces hand fatigue while working. Add to BasketHaving used this knife a lot of late I can’t praise this blade enough. I tend to give the edge a little attention after every use and it just keeps getting sharper. The steel takes very little effort to sharpen yet has excellent edge retention. The handle is in part bright orange and always easy to see. When folded the knife is unnoticeable in the pocket. And absolute joy to work with. This is a great hunting knife.
Lovely knife to work with. Gralloching a deer is a pleasure with this knife and despite cutting through tough skin full of sand the blade holds a great edge. So far I have only used fixed blades and I wanted a knife that is small and unnoticeable in a pocket. The handle is slim but comfortable. Whilst I will always value a fixed blad this folder is very fit for purpose. The blade has a slight recurve which needs to be considered when sharpening. After 3 grallochs I have now put a mirror edge on it. The service from Heinnie was as usual excellent (many thanks Richard).
