I read the comments from the other reviewers and it is true, but let me give you another perspective as an owner of this knife. I had owned a cheap Gerber Bear grills knife in 2011 and it was pretty much a duplicate of this knife in many ways except with the orange and black bear grills logo etc. At the time the Bear Grills was like 20 usd as I was in the states at the time. It had a razor sharp edge like the buck has and about the same build quality except a Chinese and not American blade like the Buck. I like the lightweight, rubbery design and very grippy and yes the handle is thin but it’s a light duty and lightweight knife for small tasks. The Buck is the spiritual successor to the line of the Bear Grills folders that I always loved, Cheap and cheerful yet useful! The Buck is the same except it’s not cheap! The blade is better in the Buck and the lanyard hole is great too. Can’t fault the knife for how good it is and I found the sheath really great! But maybe I have a different taste in sheaths than the other reviewers, to each their own. If this knife was like £30 it would be a no brainer (not the fault of Heinie) but at least£70 plus it’s to me not a £70 knife, yet with inflation and crazy prices nowadays going up maybe £70 is the new budget knives? Lastly the balance is good and the blade length on the large is just right for larger hands like mine. Also it feels great in the pocket.
The knife does not lock into position, and can therefore close on the users fingers. Completely unacceptable, not safe, not what I expect from buck. I need a replacement please.
I bought this and it arrived a few days later which was good. Love the knife, however, the pocket it comes with is too small and you can’t do the popper up to secure the knife! Seriously disappointed as I feel like it would make the knife it it fit. All in all a brilliant blade with a comfy handle and easy folding. Smart looking knife, just let down but the case for it.
