Description

At this price the Walther P38 makes for a bargain outdoor knife for general work around basecamp. 440C stainless steel is a more than adequate blade material plus it has a section on the back spine that will serve as an ideal fire striker. Its full tang structure means it is inherently strong and the synthetic handles are nicely shaped for a solid comfortable grip. It is supplied with a leather belt sheath.

    Walther P38 fixed blade. A tribute to the WWII-era pistol. Even the leather sheath mirrors the firearm's holster. It's definately well thought out and designed. A lovely finish. Its a lovely looking knife with a distinctive drop point shaped blade(440C) and a synthetic sheath with textured grips similar to the firearm's handle.This is a great knife to start or add to a collection in a budget friendly way. As I understand it isn't a full tang so I don't think it would cope with heavy camp and bushcraft duties. But I don't think it would be purchased for this although I think it would cope with general lighter duties. It's a cool looking collectors piece that 007 would probably use as a dress knife....I really like it. Success again from Heinnie Haynes with some impressive and different pieces.

    The Knife of Best Fit from all points of view. Very balanced, nice to handle, outstanding design. Yes, it is made in China. So, what? A Chinese firm completed its takeover of British Steel. Finely, it is WALTHER, no matter who made it.

    Looks good but disappointing

    For a knife made by a big name like Walter, this was a real let down. Looks great on first look and has good weight to it but looking closer you can see that it’s poorly done, with glue visible around the scales. It is also very obvious that this knife has been made from 2 separate pieces of steel not 1 single piece which would be better. I decided to return this knife and haven’t bought another Walther knife since. If you want a knife made by an iconic firearms manufacturer then I’d recommend the Browning Ignite - it’s a similar price but is smaller and much better looking.
