Victorinox Swiss Soldier's Knife 08 - 111mm Green Black 18

Victorinox makes great knives and this is something else. Too bad it's illegal to carry in the UK. The other gos do their jobs in the well engineer way that we expect from victorinox. My only gripe is the bottle opener. I've got bottle openers coming out of my ears. Every piece of EDC has a bottle opener. Even my trayvax comb as if tray vax thinks I'm so upset about hair loss that I need to get rat arsed while combing it. A pair of scissors would have been. Otr useful. Every one should own one of these

Victorinox Soldier 2008 is now official issue to several of the world's Armies ! The German army being the first to realise the trailmaster or trekker was the perfect replacement gor the 108mm trooper knife they used ? The swiss were a bit late in the game and adopting it some 5 years later ! Even the USMC have been bitten by the bug and are using it too ! Wonder if the British army will go for it , to replace the crude Stainless steel offerering thats been loved or loathed for decades ! The knife comes with a one hand opening main blade that has the serrations at the tip down to about two thirds of the cutting edge , razor sharp out the box as always, the remaining part has plain edge all is chisel ground , but well done ! The saw is nice and again does the job . Standard can opener with 3 mm screwdriver tip Bottle opener with a slightly large 6/7 mm screwdriver / locking , philips 1/2 on back with an awl also , nothing out of the normal here ,its the trailmaster or trekker after all ? The handles are what they call duel density ? Some edge grip rubber that is a magnet for lint and oil . The main problem we here in blighty are going to have is its a LOCK knife ! This is a fantastic pocket tool /knife but you cant carry it not without good cause??? Is there a good cause to carry a knife in a public place ?? Anyway for a camp knife or even a home use knife this is 5 stars all the way and the reason i bought this one is ive some how lost the last one ! And that herts ! But not as much as the price this model is now retailing at?? Im sure the last one was about £26 anyway this is an amazing model from victorinox and with its military presence a sure nice knife to own and use !!! Superb, the locking serrated blade is very sharp, good sized wood saw and the usual Victorinox tools.

Solid knife, great blade and Victorinox make the best knife saws.

Not usually a huge fan of SAK steel for a working knife, but this one is actually really good. Here’s why: 1. One handed opening; 2. Blade length is useful in real life for the outdoors; 3. I usually avoid serrations, but this one makes sense – and serrations at the front of the blade make it useful for cutting cordage and brambles; 4. The saw blade is longer (and therefore more useable) than standard SAKs( 5. Locking flat-head blade makes turning and prying more confident. My only complaint is the absence of a corkscrew. But for £40-odd, it’s a bargain.

Got one as a present, & as with my other 2 models this one i great. one handed opening is a bonus, all the extra 's work fine as for the linerlock ? has a reassuring click when opening the blade and is really quite solid. Not in my opinion a heavy duty blade, but perfectly suitable for most chores around camp. will always be with me when outdoors. RECOMMENDED !!!
