Description

The Spyderco UK Penknife with FRN handle, leaf-shaped blade and a flat grind is arguably the UK’s favourite selling pocket knife. Quite rightly so too! Made using CTS BD1N Stainless Steel with Spyderco’s Tradmark Round Hole system for simple ambidextrous opening, at the home of Spyderco in Golden Colorado. This already tells you that this is definitely a knife worth considering!

Because UK knife law does not allow for locking knives, the UKPK instead features a notch-joint at the knife’s pivot. This allows for the blade to feel secure in the open position but ultimately not lock it in place. This little knife also boasts a perfectly positioned deep finger choil and thumb ramp with jimping allowing for incredible control.

The handle is made from ultra-light FRN (Fibreglass reinforced nylon) which is warp-resistant, grippy and performs admirably in almost any environment.

In short the UKPK is a brilliant folding knife.

    ok but pointless

    Posted by D on 1st Aug 2022

very stiff, for safety, due to uk laws not allowing locking, so it's not easy to open with a your thumb, so why bother buying a spyderco... pointless

What can I say, it’s a quality uk legal as I expected having already purchased an urban. Very light I hardly know I have it with me. Very sturdy despite how light it feels and it is super sharp out of the box. Very pleased.

The best pocket knife out there in the UK carry market in my opinion. Decent slip joint, razor sharp out the box and a subtle, deep carry clip. Simply superb.

    Nice blade, expensive logo

Posted by James on 26th May 2022

This is my first Spiderco knife, and I have to say I feel a little bit let down. The blade itself is really nice and the ergonomics of the knife are very nice too, it is easy one handed opening (although I fear I would lose a finger trying to close it one handed as the detent makes it tricky to close as it sticks open and at 90 degrees). It is just the pricepoint and the scales that let it down for me, they feel really 'cheap'. It just feels a bit too 'plasticy' for the price. If this had nice exotic wood scales or even just some cheap micata it would get 5 stars from me, as it is it feels like they cheaped out on the handle which feels thin and flimsy and a lot of the cost you pay seems to be for the spider logo. Don't get me wrong, not a bad knife, and it feels like a bigger knife for a UK legal carry due to the width of the blade, I just think there are nicer alternatives especially at this price point.

    Spyderco UKPK

Excellent little edc, sharp as a razor, a great slicer, and the finger choil gives a great feeling of security, knowing the blade won't shut on your fingers and cut them, the choil will keep that from happening, very pleased.

    Spyderco uk penknife

Very disappointed in this knife very lightweight, feels cheap and vastly overpriced. I’ve paid far less for folding knives that feel more solidly built than this

    Spyderco UKPK

Don’t just consider it “As good as I’m allowed in the UK”, this is an excellent pocket knife. The pocket clip give it a useful carrying option and the distinctive Spyderhole is a simple and elegant solution to ambidextrous one-handed opening. I ordered one to replace one that I’d lost… which then magically re-appeared; H-H’s refund service was excellent!
