C.Q.I.-Constant Quality Improvement is a process Spyderco uses to evaluate and refine longstanding established knife models. Sometime C.Q.I. changes are large and noticeable, sometimes they’re smaller refinements. Recently Spyderco applied C.Q.I. to the classic Dragonfly creating a Spyderco Dragonfly 2 FRN. The Dragonfly 2 upgrades some notable features over the classic while keeping the important basics.
Features carrying-over to the new version are the tried and tested mid-sized blade and ergonomic handle along with a front-finger choil and spine cusp. Also staying is the blade-to-handle geometry and leveraging points which make the Dragonfly cut and feel like a much larger large knife when in the hand.
Refinements include: the addition of a left/right tip-up wire clip, patented Bi-Directional Texturing on the handle, choil and spine jimping and screw together handle construction. The blade is still premium VG-10, now in a high-performance flat-grind with a PlainEdge.
The position of the enlarged Spyderco Round Opening Hole in relation to the pivot leads to smooth opening and the FRN (fiberglass reinforce nylon) handle fits the hand ergonomically with a series of grip angles and leveraging spots.

Simply the best small lightweight one hand opening and closing knife ever made imho.. I should have got one of these many years ago,, 100%. Superb,,
Excellent little knife
This was my first Spyderco Dragonfly purchase and its a fantastic knife very compact with brilliant ly ergonomic handle , The steel is superb and the build quality is up with the best!
Brilliant pocket knife, converted mine to slipjoint and added a kwik thumb stud( bad fingers) and it's perfect for everyday carry.
Well another excellent little knife from Spyderco. Sadly as it locks i didn't get to carry mine as much as i wanted. Punches well above its weight. Kind of regret selling mine, however the Urban i replaced it with can be carried anywhere without good reason.
I've been wanting to get one of these Dragonfly's for a while now & now I have one & I'm really pleased with it. It's amazingly light but seems very strong and also razor sharp out of the box, I also have a Spyderco Ambitious which is a very good knife but a little too big so this Dragonfly is perfect for the pocket.
I picked up this little guy a couple of months ago and it has been my EDC blade ever since. Small, super light, strong pocket clip, nice blade shape, razor sharp out of the box... I LOVE this knife! It's on my person all day, every day. The only slight criticism is that the VG-10 blade needs sharpening a little more often than I'd like. But the pro's I listed above and the fact it only takes a minute on my Spyderco Sharpmaker to bring the edge back more than make up for it. Tip top light duty EDC knife and the usual superb service from the mighty Heinnie Haynes!
This is pretty much perfect! Comfortable, strong, razor sharp, lightweight and beautiful! Well worth the money!
