C.Q.I.-Constant Quality Improvement is a process Spyderco uses to evaluate and refine longstanding established knife models. Sometime C.Q.I. changes are large and noticeable, sometimes they’re smaller refinements. Recently Spyderco applied C.Q.I. to the classic Dragonfly creating a Spyderco Dragonfly 2 FRN. The Dragonfly 2 upgrades some notable features over the classic while keeping the important basics.

Features carrying-over to the new version are the tried and tested mid-sized blade and ergonomic handle along with a front-finger choil and spine cusp. Also staying is the blade-to-handle geometry and leveraging points which make the Dragonfly cut and feel like a much larger large knife when in the hand.

Refinements include: the addition of a left/right tip-up wire clip, patented Bi-Directional Texturing on the handle, choil and spine jimping and screw together handle construction. The blade is still premium VG-10, now in a high-performance flat-grind with a PlainEdge.

The position of the enlarged Spyderco Round Opening Hole in relation to the pivot leads to smooth opening and the FRN (fiberglass reinforce nylon) handle fits the hand ergonomically with a series of grip angles and leveraging spots.

    I love this knife

Posted by Ilhan on 22nd Oct 2011

This is a perfect little EDC knife. What I love about its size is that people won't call the police or use pepper spray or krav maga on you whenever you're about to open a letter. I like that. The quality of this knife is simply amazing (you?ll understand what I mean the first time you flick it open). It's incredibly sturdy and looks and feels great when you hold it. For any continental EU customers I would also like to add that (as long as the Euro doesn't crash) Heinnie.com definitely has the cheapest deal you can get for this knife in Europe (trust me,I checked all the webstores).Their customer service is great and very friendly, which I think is really important when you shop online and can?t actually ?see? what you buy. One final point,I had my knife shipped to the Netherlands and there have been no problems with customs or anything (something I was a little worried about at first),so I'm pretty sure all EU orders should be fine.In short,I love the Dragonfly 2 and I love Heinnie.com

    Great EDC knife

    Posted by A.J. on 12th Jun 2011

This knife is perfectly sized for EDC, easy to open, has a good grip (FRN and the jimping make sure of that) and easy to sharpen as well. The (re)movable pocket clip is also a big plus.
