Spartan Harsey
I am a huge fan of Spartan knives, I think that they currently produce what is the acme of blades, especially folders. They are incredibly well designed and engineered, simply a work of art. I never get tired of deploying the blade, it is a beautiful smooth action full of power. The question is who to leave my collection to, none of those in the family younger than me have any interest, because one thing is for sure the knives will far out last me, I am two years from 70 and even with a following wind it will not be possible to live much longer. I saw a new consultant recently, and when I sat down he told me that he had been through my history 'you should be dead' he said, with all the forces injuries that I have sustained he went on to say that he could only assume that it was my strength of character and refusal to give in that has carried me this far. I will have to make sure that they go to a good home though even if that means giving them away. The second hand market is not sufficientlly boyant to be worth very much. Although used Spartans and other top end knives do hold their value much better than most, similar to a Rolex. Even the frame lock is far superior to others, a real slab of steel. With crisp smooth operation. I highly recommend Spartans to anyone who can afford them, they are worth every penny, I have certainly had my money's worth out of mine.
