The best way to maintain and keep the edge on your Samura collection. The Samura Combination Whetstone is available in four combined grit levels and all are supplied with a rubber stand to keep you steady during the sharpening process.

  • With a very course grain size (240 and 800 grit), this combined grinder is intended for rough machining of the blade prior to sharpening and intensive removal of metal. The #240/800 grinder will help restore the cutting angle, the geometry of the blade and the cutting edge; remove cracks and chips, and even change the thickness of the blade.

  • The whetstone with grain sizes of 1000 and 3000 grit is the most versatile one. It is exactly the grain size that allows to effectively tackle the two tasks at once: the rough sharpening (remove microflaws and wear scars) and the finish sharpening (bring the blade and the cutting edge to the flawless condition).

  • 2000 and 5000 grit is a multi-purpose one and can perform multiple functions at once. The side with a coarser grain size will level and sharpen the cutting edge, and that with a finer grain size will be helpful in bringing the blade to the perfect condition.

  • The grindstone with a grain size of 3000 is meant for finish sharpening and grinding of the cutting edge. The grindstone with a fine grain size (8000) is intended for final polishing of the blade to the perfect condition.

Im no expert, but these are great!!

I bought the stone to sharpen my kitchen and pocket knives, and it did exactly what is said on the tin. the 2000 grit side helped remove the right amount of material whilst still being forgiving. The 5000 grit side put a nice finish on the blade, more than suitable for my cutting needs. The limiting factor to these stones was definitely my own skills, yet I'm more than satisfied with the edges I got. I would definitely recommend and will be looking to buy from Samura once I have fine-tuned my technique.
