I was really pleased with this -- my first Rough Ryder. It seemed perfect apart from a very slight ding on one blade edge, which I was able to sort out. I like this design particularly because it has no shield on the scales and no RR branding on the bolster. . It was paper-cutting sharp straight out of the box. I may well buy another RR knife at some point -- there are so many to choose from.

Wow! Gorgeous knife, absolutely perfect size, really nice white scales. Both blades super sharp and perfectly centred. Bought this to replace my Rough Rider carbon toothpick, lost it on a walk last Sunday, so glad I chose this one. Totally solid feel, polished to perfection, I will recommend this knife to anyone. Love it! Usual fantastic fast service from HH, you are deservedly a really well respected company!

Two identical clip point blades. If one gets dull you have the other to fall back on, without the need to take time out to resharpen. Muskrat pattern knife is said to be the pattern actually used by North American fur trappers.

This must be the best RR I have ever bought, the done is perfect with no cracks, pins are flush, no spacing in the back springs,& the blade centering is perfect, 10 out of 10 on this one, I have a lot of RR, but this is something else .

I must say this knife is spot on, the scales are flawless, blade centering is perfect , no gaping in back springs, the pins are perfectly flush & transition from bolsters to done is seamless. The blades are sharp but not razor sharp, but not a problem. I would say it's the most faultless rough rider I have ,& I have 18 of them .

a useful EDC knife, a little heavy, but sharp out of the box. one of the pins was loose holding the bone handle, which prevented the blade from closing between the brass liner. but H-H were prompt in replacing it.

Ordered yesterday got it today. Cheers! Larger than I expected, longer than a standard Victorinox and provides a four-finger grip. My scales aren't as impressive as those in the picture, having numerous black flecks but they are smooth with no cracks round the rivets nor gaps or steps between the scales and metal parts. There's no gaps between springs, very good at this or any price, and both blades are straight, well-centred and sharp. It's a well-finished large-ish pocket knife. If I had bought it for skinning muskrats, though, a shorter blade would be more useful as it's a bit of a stretch to back the tip with your finger. It is possibly on the heavy side for EDC for which I have a RR peanut, but is an excellent knife and pretty much flawless. NB I had a white bone RR Barlow which I dropped and the scales broke, so for a more robust piece I would go for RRs synthetic scales.
