Description

The Rough Rider Classic Carbon II Seahorse Whittler features three extremely useful blades; one Wharncliff and two pen. All three are under three inches long and non-locking making this handy little knife UK carry. Each blade is made using mirror polished carbon steel with match strike thumb notches to open. The handle is a combination of roughened black micarta, nickle silver bolsters, brass liners and a matt black Rough Rider shield inlay. Noteworthy is the blue liner running the edge of the black micarta scale.

    Classic carbon ii whittler?

Posted by Wildy on 11th Aug 2021

This is a nice knife no doubt about it... Nice and solid in the hand and good steel that will sharpen up to razor sharp. No blade play on any of the blades. I bought it as I am an avid whittler and thought I'd try the traditional route. I also bought the two cheaper rough rider whittlers too . My question mark over this model is the ridiculous swedges on both sides of the main blade, great for the eye not so great for your thumbs!. The cheaper models don't have this and are more comfortable to use. Good for small projects out and about but not for extended whittling sessions ( which is probably the idea!?) A lovely solid pocket knife for every day carry and very brief whittling duties. Great service as always from HH

    Good little knife

For it's price it's a good knife, well made, everything aligned well, good edge out of the box, think alot of folk do expect too much from a budget range knife. But if, like me, you need good edcs for work use, that won't be too much of a hassle to replace, & not too much of a loss if it gets lost, damaged..etc, than the Rough Rider brand is the one for you. Anyone moaning about this brand been a lower quality just needs to spend a few more quid, simple as that, though all the Rough Rider knives ARE a good quality in their price bracket, unless I just get lucky every time! HH service was top notch as usual too, as every customer already knows, & new customers learn very quickly
