    Classic carbon scout

Posted by Steve on 8th Feb 2024

Bought this in December 2021 and initially was very pleased with it. I then discovered that the cap lifter was very poor at lifting caps. I have seen online that if you grind a bit off it will work fine. I didnt fancy doing that so the knife saw very little use, in fact it lay in a drawer most of the time. When I got it out earlier this month I saw that the backspring had snapped in the middle. This meant the can opener and cap lifter had no tension. \\\\\\seems like the warranty is 2 years so I was a few weeks out. Never had this happen to another knife in 60 years of owning pocket knives so perhaps it was the one in a million. Still the cap lifter problem would prevent me buying another.

    RR2215 CLASSIC CARBON I I SCOUT

Posted by Stephen Saunders on 31st Jul 2023

Very good RR knife fit and finish better than most costing a lot more, as it's a non stainless steel ,need to keep it oiled it's a good mirror finish and very highly polished ,the tools are all good and made of thick steel, the blade is very sharp ,with the black scales it's good looking a very good all rounder, don't know how long it takes to tarnish, but so far still spot less, may keep it's shine for a long time, would recommend this knife to anyone who is looking for a camp knife, with carbon steel blades, and good strength. At this price you really can't go wrong.

    Great little pocket knife!

Posted by Sean Havoc on 20th May 2023

I like Rough Rider pocket knives. You have to sometimes take the rough with the smooth as I’ve had one or two duds that have had issues. Saying that, they have always been rectified by HH, with lightning fast efficiency. The carbon scout is a compact, well made pocket knife. The lock up and half stop are crisp and tight and the blade is razor sharp. I wanted this for camping but it’s now going to be my edc. It has a bottle and can opener and a spike (for getting stones out of horses hooves ?). Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a better quality RR for the money.

    Rough Rider classic carbon scout

I'm a big fan of Rough Rider knives i think they're excellent value and this one is no different, decent edge out of the box and after a quick strop it was spot on, the bottle opener works fine, all in all a decent knife ots my fifth Rough Rider and I'll be back for more.

    RR Classic Carbon Scout 2

Posted by Steve on 18th Dec 2021

Expected a lot from this knife after reading the reviews and for the most part I was not disappointed. Good quality, fit and finish very good and overall excellent value for money. However the main blade walk and talk is poor. I like a strong pull this is about a 2 or 3 and feels like it is full of mud. Perhaps this is due to manufacturing swarf etc and hopefully a good clean will improve it.

    Carbon 11 Scout

Posted by Keefy 243 on 4th Dec 2021

I've been looking at alternatives to a SAK & this fits the bill. It's robust, heavy & very handsome. A strong, well made multi-blade knife that just works & seems built to last. Easily worth the £23 paid.

A very reasonably priced pocket knife . Seems well put together , I have not had much time to try it out fully as yet , but it does seem very capable of doing the tasks that it has been designed for .

For the price I paid , you really can’t be robbed

    Very nice

Posted by Paul P on 3rd Aug 2021

I love this knife. The price is almost too cheap. Lovely carbon steel and came shaving sharp unlike some top makers costing 10x more. All the blades open nicely with a solid stop. Even comes with a quality box. A real bargain.
