    Great knife

Posted by Brian, Suffolk on 20th Oct 2025

This feels like a much more expensive knife than it is. Perfect tension on the spring, very snappy with solid half and full locks. The finish on mine was really good too. RR make really good knives for this price range, and this particular one was spot on.

Lovely little Barlow. Very light. Very sharp with a strong lockup and half stop. Beautifully finished.

Rough Ryder Barlow Cinnamon Bone Stag

Posted by Jeff on 22nd Feb 2025

My example is flawless. Fit and finish are perfect; no gaps, smooth transitions from the scales to the bolsters and the blade is centred as it should be. For what I paid it's a steal. It fits in the 5th pocket of my jeans like it was made for it. Those of you who follow a certain forum will know why I mean when I say "A Barlow for every pocket"! I like the carbon steel blade and this came sharp out the box. A winner...

    Rough Ryder Barlow

My long deceased Grandfather would be familiar with as knife just like this. A small chunky Barlow with brass liners and hefty nickel silver bolsters. The miniscule slip point clip blade opens and shuts with a satisfying snap & the half stop is a sensible feature. Even the simple carbon steel of the blade seems appropriate. Easy to sharpen and maintain, but will need TLC and regular oiling to keep rust at bay. The jigged bone is almost indistinguishable from stag and much easier to source. The fit and finish is good, but not perfect, but at this price point you couldn't expect any more. A lovely little EDC you could take anywhere.

    a better made RR knife

Blade is centered and not bent. scales are stabilized and show no gap. This is a fine barlow-style knife.

    RR barlow cinnamon

Posted by Doc on 28th Aug 2022

Lovely looking knife, knife came very clogged with polishing compound and after cleaning what I though was just a sticking blade I realised the back spring has been ground so much to adjust the tension it has been reduced to very little at all, not at all happy about it.

    Rough ryder barlow

Great lookin knife nice in the hand blade dull needed a dozen strokes on me ceramic rod then ok.easy pinch opening don't need to break any nails with my sample.I do have several styles which are nail breakers but not this one. After a couple of weeks carry & a lot of light use still sharp patina building on blade back where you pinch it & on bolsters.value for money but I will be sticking to stainless blades & bolster in future
