The RoseCraft Blades Tuckahoe Jack Grey Barnboard Jigged Bone is a one-bladed sleeve board jack pattern that features a 6.3cm (2.5”) 14C28N spear point blade with a brushed satin finish, long pull, half-stop and heavy swedging. It has hand-jigged Smoky Gray Barnboard Jigged Bone covers with brushed stainless steel bolsters, liners, and nickel silver pins. It introduces the RoseCraft Heart shield which completes the shield suit set. This pattern was inspired by traditional sleeve board patterns and re-imagined by Andy Armstrong.
The jigging on RoseCraft traditional slip joint knives is hand-jigged one by one by RoseCraft craftsmen.
Why 14C28N Steel?
First and foremost, Rosecraft customers asked for a stainless steel, and 14C28N fit that bill perfectly. It’s a stainless steel with high corrosion resistance which means you don’t have to be as careful about getting it completely dry like you might with D2. It also takes a very sharp edge and is easier to sharpen than other steels like D2.
