The Ontario Rat II is a fantastic little liner lock knife which has so many uses. It features more than decent AUS-8 stainless steel which is highly corrosion resistant and very easy to re-sharpen. Ontario have also fitted the knife with two thumb studs which are perfectly positioned for left of right single hand opening.
The linerlock mechanism on the Ontario RAT II is really smooth. It engages nicely and can be disengaged with no problem at all when required (the jimping on the liner really helps with disengaging the lock).
The handle on this version is coyote brown FRN (there are other versions with different colours available) and provides plenty of grip, no matter the conditions. The scales have also been nicely contoured which makes for really comfortable holding! The handle also includes a removable and adjustable pocket clip which can be placed in any of four positions on the handle depending on which carry position you prefer.
In summary you get a great quality knife for not a lot of money!

Great.. fast service from Heinnie, Great little Budget knife this Ontario Rat 2 .. no complaints here .. ps if anyone's wondering.. the QSP Piglet is a bit of a better knife in this price range .. I've bought both ... Piglet is sharper , has a smoother action and feels better in the hand.. slices a 2 inch thick steak like a laser beam .. Ontario Rat 2 not quite as slicey .. happy with both for the price
I can see why this knife is so highly rated. Build quality is up there and the shape makes it the perfect allrounder. I may have to look at getting the Rat 1 in D2 after seeing this one in the flesh. HH superb service a usual.
