MORA COMPANION SPARK
Great value for money with a razor sharp sturdy blade. The fire steel sparks very well. As usual the delivery service from HH was first rate, my knife arrived earler than the quoted delivery date.

Many years ago I brought a Light My Fire for dedicated use with a firesteel. Probably the worse knife I have ever brought. Blunt & wouldn't take an edge. Great concept, appalling execution. So I am not surprised that Mora decided to take it in house. The knife: Slightly more expensive than a standard Companion, but your getting much more for your buck by way of a squared spine & a built in firesteel. Hybrid Light My Fire / Companion handle. Well made, grippy, comfortable. Ample room for my XL hands. I use Companions a lot because the handle is so comfortable. Firesteel rotates & clicks in & out of battery nicely, retention is good. Identical fit to the old Light My Fire. Changes to the handle of the firesteel are cosmetic. Blade is the normal companion profile. Brushed finished & sharp. Squared spine. Incidentally mine came micro beveled. Given that most people are probably going to be doing the odd spot of light batoning that's probably a good thing. It's my experience that true scandi grinds & wood knots don't mix. I have actually taken the firesteel off my old Light My Fire and mounted it on this one. I've put the one that came with it away as a spare. At least until Mora gets the supply of spare firesteel's up and running.
