Mercury Knives was one of the first cutleries to be founded in Maniago, Italy after the second world war. Italian design and manufacturing techniques are some of the best in the world and their line of pocket knives use olive wood and high grade stainless steel to great affect.

The Three Use penknife has a sub three inch, non-locking blade (so, yes, it's UK legal carry) plus a screwdriver/bottle opener and a corkscrew. There is also a key ring attachment for your favourite lanyard. This is a great little pocket knife perfectly suited to your next camping trip or as sturdy reliable EDC. It is available with an Olive wood or stag handle.

Posted by Oliver Abbott on 8th Feb 2022

The tools and build of the is knife are great however the quality of the blade is very poor , lots of scratches all over it , almost looks used , won’t clean or polish out , shame

Good knife at bigger end of UK EDC carry

Posted by CJ on 7th Jan 2021

Good little knife, not sure I’ll be using the corkscrew for wine but am sure it’ll come in handy for poking and so on! The blade is on the large side, I think it’s nearly at the end of UK legality but it still fits in my small jean pocket and It’ll be staying there for the foreseeable. I like the wood and the grain is lovely on mine, happy to not have plastic scales on my EDC too. Finish a tiny bit rough around the edges but I’ve smoothed it out and oiled the wood and can’t really complain for 14 quid and not made in China!

Nice occasional carry or picnic knife

Posted by Simon on 28th Dec 2020

Bought this on a whim as it was at a very good price for the olive scales, which I think are far nicer than the more expensive stag horn, and it's made in Italy, so for the price of a pack of fags I couldn't go wrong. The quality is fairly good, the backsprings are very strong, but there is a little bit of play in the 2 front tools. The main blade is as thick as on a 91mm SAK but longer and deeper bellied, even more than a 93mm alox. However the bottle opener/screwdriver is quite a lot thinner than on SAKs so whilst it's fine for opening bottles I'd advise to be careful when using it as a SD and against using it to pry. Corkscrew works well, tested it on a bottle of Rioja. So all in all a good picnic knife, or a Sunday knife. I'll put it with my cookset when I go camping for food prep. But if you're looking for a more utilitarian EDC with the same toolset, I'd advise you to shell out the extra 3 quid for a Victorinox Waiter. For myself, I've got quite a few Vics anyway so glad I got this for a change in style.
