Description

The Fox Dragotac Slim Friction Folder is a collaboration between knife designer & maker Bastinelli and Italian manufacturers Fox. With such a pedigree, the knife was always going to be a success. It's cousin with the Santos wood handle is a best seller and we expect the FRN handle version to be just as popular.

The N690 stainless steel, flat ground blade leaves the factory extremely sharp. It is held in place during use with the pressure from ones thumb on the extended tang and is thus classed as a non-locking knife. It is supplied with a leather sheath. The blade is under three inches long and is therefore UK legal carry.

    Fox folder

Posted by Jez on 17th Sep 2025

I have the boker worldwide folder, which is a very similar concept and knife to this one. For those don't know, the concept of both knives is that they can be taken anywhere and provided that it is not used in a threatening manner one will not be bothered by the police. The boker that I have has a longer blade, but the crucial thing is that the slip joint is very strong, so there is very little chance of it closing on your fingers during normal use, I still have the scars on all my fingers where a knife closed on them when I was a child, the cuts were very deep easily down to the bone, and this is the problem that besets people who use a folder with no lock on it or a very strong slip joint. My scars have now been present for well over 60 years and of course they don't bother me. My other hand though was not so lucky during a *************** while in the forces they were badly cut and now I have permanent pain and pins and needles in them, they have also lost their dexterity so typing for instance is difficult. So, what I would like to know does anyone reading this know of other knives like my boker that are safe with a very strong slip joint?

    Not so sharp

Fox say we make it sharp, unfortunately not so much with this one... but not hard to fix and a great little knife just needs a lanyard to help extend the handle but an excellent box cutter

    little knife big upsides

Great little knife. The friction folding system makes it a lot more reliable than any other slipjoint.
