Mercury 8
The Mercury 8 is a very nice alternative to the usual Swiss Army Knife and makes for a great EDC. I chose the Olive scales as I feel they'll take more punishment than the Stagg scales. One tool I've found myself using daily is the fork. It's extremely handy and you'll wonder how you ever managed without it. there's only one fault I have to highlight, the Awl is absolutely terrible and poorly designed. It snapped clean across the sewing eye the first time I used it. There's just not enough meat either side of the sewing eye and it's too close to the tip. I've since reprofiled it with my Dremel into something more useful resembling a Leatherman Reamer/Awl. Besides the poor Awl everything else is spot on. The scissors are also very nice and are actually screwed together as opposed to the usual press fit from other brands. All the tools have a very satisfying snap upon opening and closing. Scales are chunky and robust. I imagine this will be a solid workhorse for many years. I was going to rate it 5 stars, but I've knocked a point off for the awl. But don't let it put you off, just Dremel it like I did.
