Back in the day it was reckoned that a highly skilled military operative could survive away from civilisation with nothing more than his or her wits, knowledge and the contents of a tobacco tin! That notion has remained with outdoor and survival experts to this day and many different types of survival tin/box have been created since.

The Marbles Survival Box is a tough, O-ring sealed, plastic box with a foam insert and an orange braided paracord lanyard. Supplied empty.

    Aint no Peli

Not quite a Peli but fits a good amount in there and appears after minor test to be watertight. Now in boot of the car full of gear for one of those just incase moments

    Not great

When you look at the price of waterproof cases by Otterbox, Peli etc, this looked like a bargain. Initially I liked it, solid plastic, foam lining, O ring seal and a decent paracord lanyard. Sadly after opening and closing it 4 or 5 times, one of the latches snapped off. They have basically thinned and folded the plastic to make the latch hinges and this provides a very weak hinge that won’t last. Returned for a refund. Back to the Tupperware box I bought for a pound, that is genuinely still waterproof after a decade of use
