This is my second Leatherman Rebar and i had no hesitation in buying another! This time round the black out version, the other was naturally the stainless model , that ive had since they first came out and ive worn out the pliers so sentin for repair and there's nobody better than Leatherman for warranty repairs thst ive come across ! Im sure they will just give me a new / reconditioned replacement for it ? Back to this new black out model well its got everything you need in multitool except scissors maybe ? But i dont care for that feature on a multiplier tool so its fine as is ! The Rebar has the best bang for buck in Leathermans line up i believe?! And HH were good with this at £77.95 even cheaper if you go natural steel ! Good quality again on the new one ! Just right at the size four inch frame with all locking impliments, so not UK legal without just course ! There is a new bond model out no locking tools i also have as a multiplier and knife sicko but it looses the saw and serrated blade and its only £10 less ! So do i recommend this tool ? Yes 100% its great i think the best model Leatherman make next to supertool 300 , the big brother of Rebar? Super sharp service from HH with standard delivery free and next day !!!
Amazing piece of kit, well made, nicely finished, no sharp edges except the ones that are supposed to be ! Leather sheath is good, only downside is locking blades make it non-EDC. Having had a look, I reckon 2 minutes with a Dremel could disable the locks, not as safe, but legal. No point having it if you can't carry it without getting nicked lol. Overall, very happy with purchase, and usual fast delivery from HH.
Good size to carry in your pocket but it came to stiff to open and close so I sent it back and got a very quick refund really easy process I would have reordered it but I chose the swiss army model for the scissors as they are similar size turns out the scissors are crap so should have stuck with the rebar! Both need a pocket clip.
The Rebar is a compact, comparatively light multitool that offers quite a lot. The replaceable cutters are a thoughtful feature. Although the tools are on the inside, accessible only by opening the folding handles, the selection and abilities are great. Usual tidy and well designed Leatherman quality. Does it replace a toolbox? Well, no. And really, multitools aren't intended to. But they certainly are handy, and when your full kit of proper tools is unavailable or impractical for some reason, a capable mulitool can often prove its worth again and again. They make wonderful, much appreciated gifts, especially for builders and tradesmen. Carry is, naturally, as and when appropriate. If I didn't already have a Leatherman Wave, I would actually go for a Rebar. It's a good mix of tool selection and value. Recommended!
I've wanted a full size Leatherman for years, but haven't been a fan of their more modern designs. The ST300 is quite a bulky, heavy lump for me personally but I've always liked the more classic design, so when I saw that they had introduced this to their product line I was glad I hadn't settled for a Sidekick or a Surge. One thing I've heard people mention is a disadvantage to the Rebar is that it has no scissors, but if that is an issue for you, rather than go for the Charge or the Wave, why not use the money you would save buying this and buy a Micra as well. The scissors are much more user friendly anyway and its a useful little tool in its own right. Two for the price of one! If like me you don't need rapid deploying tools that are accessible in the closed position and want the capabilities of the ST300 in a lighter, smaller package then you've found it.
Its a great tool more compact version of the super tool 300 all the tools are great
I am impressed with the build quality and the leather pouch that comes with it. After doing lots of research I decided to buy the Rebar, this is much like the Super Tool 300 but much smaller in size comparison. The weight and size are just right for EDC with all the qualities of the larger Leatherman tools at the right price. I like the pliers with the replaceable cutters and have more than one function. The saw is excellent which I have used to cut 2 inch branches and it cut through them like a big saw. The knife is of a good size well impressed with the shape and the safety cutters are excellent with a smooth curve on the back so you can get to the awkward places without cutting someone if needed in an emergency would be very beneficial. The Phillips screwdriver the flathead large and small are pretty amazing always handy to have when needed. Overall I am pleased with this purchase as this is a quality product that is guaranteed to last for many years to come.
Great value offer I couldn't resist. Quality made tools with nylon pouch. The Rebar is smaller version of the Super-tool. Both made in USA. Thank you HH.
