Good looking blade
Again amazing quality, wish I got a bigger one but I love it perfect for me , can't wait to get more to add to the collection
I wanted to make a steak knife with a para cord handle and then seal it with cyanoacrylate. This blade is perfect for the job, I have another 60mm which I tested before buying this one. The blade is tough and sharp and will serve me well. Very fast delivery and a good job all round, very happy with this purchase.
Πjust received the 7.7 blade today...very poor quality and had a tiny bend on the tip. I've used a few off these blanks before and haven't had a problem, but this blade is far from being sharp unlike the previous ones I've had. I can't fault heinnie Haynes for the delivery or packing, but I doubt very Much that I'll buy another off these blades.
Having previously bought the 95mm. blade & a 125mm. SS version, I decided to get the 60mm. Blade to make a small whittling knife. When it arrived (promptly as usual for HH) I was disappointed to find that it's not as expected. The blade is 58mm. Not 60. It is only 2mm. Thick, not 3.3mm. as stated in the spec. Most disappointing it is only 13mm. Wide, not 19mm. like the other 2 blades. I will keep it & make a chip carver but it is still annoying that yet again the published specification is inaccurate. There are MANY errors of this type on these HH web pages and they seldom get corrected. This plus some recent MASSIVE price rises of 25 to as much as 45% has made me start looking more & more often at alternative suppliers. Let me again state that good customer service is not Only about quick delivery times!
I got the 95mm. Blade @ £10 to make a paring knife for my wife. It arrived very sharp but covered in flaky black carbon. Iremoved this then etched up the blade with a wave design merging into lettering. I reduced the tang sightly & ground the corners square. I used stainless steel for the bolster & pommel cap & stacked 2 pieces of Maple & 1 of Rosewood for the handle which was shaped to fit her hand & ended up with High quality kitchen knife which should last for years & holds a razor sharp edge. These are very dood blanks & I think the 105mm. One would make a fine, Mora-style Bushcraft knife if it ever comes back in stock.
