Ok I bought this on a whim and very glad I did, refreshed one of my 'crap*y' kitchen knives, so it will now become a permanent part of my kit, thanks cheers Mat

Having read reviews for many of the sharpening tools Heinie offer I settled on the Lansky. Not really wanting to jump into the world of whetstones just yet this tool largely removes the chance of an uneven edge. I’ve found great results with it so far; sharpening two sets of kitchen knives to good effect and restoring the edge on my SOG Terminus after annoyingly catching a nail in work. It isn’t as effective as refined sharpening methods no doubt but it definitely has its place and gets a solid result IME.

Great for penknives but blunt kitchen knives require a lot of effort (that's why I have given 4 not 5 stars)!

The best portable, lightweight sharpener I've ever used. Smaller than most pocket knives, versatile and affordable. great for touching up or completely re-sharpening working blades, when you are away from your base workshop. Highly recommended.

Quality product, does the job and at a good price.

A very solid little device that bought some dead blunt kitchen knives back to razor sharpness in very little time. I know its the wrong angle for kitchen knives, but it worked and well. The carbide will remove huge chunks of swarf, which stick to the round end because the of the magnet which holds the diamond taper in place. It's not too much of a problem, but will deliver bits of swarf to your pocket if you don't clean them off. All in all, for the price, a very good product.

This is a great piece of kit, certainly does the job quickly. Exellent HH service!
