great utility knife, this is a right handed knife, polished on one side, black on the other, blade cover is the same shape as the blade (not oval) and same wood as the handle. good steel.
I'd expected both ends to be round like the handle, not flat. That's the reason for 4 stars. The blade needed a bit of work on a couple of minor burrs but nothing major and it's sharp
I use this for wood carving it was very sharp to begin, holds a edge well and sharpens well. Good price. All round a decent sharp little blade for crafts.
Thanks as always for super fast shipping and delivery. This is what it says we can expect - a working tool with a versatile blade size and shape. I bought two as a curiosity (one for my son as a fellow collector) - but likely to buy a couple more - one for the kitchen and one for the workbench. It's even pretty to look it for real, yet comfortable to hold and control. Great little knife! Recommended without hesitation....
Really good value for money knife. Great for whittling and trimming leather. Razor sharp straight out of the box. And easy to sharpen and maintain a good edge.
purchased this little gem on a whim and am very glad I did, you get what you pay for and with the little kanetsune you get a simple yet effective handle and a very very sharp blade, perfect for whittling, carving, the SK5 steel takes an amazing edge and will split hair, in short for me a cracking little oddity for the display at a very reasonable price
Did I "need" this knife? No! Did I want it? Yes! Was it worth buying? Totally, yes. Let's be honest, it's a Japanese 'micro katana' of Kanetsune Seki quality. A cool kiridashi knife. Of course, it's a tool: the spine is unground (both top and bottom) and the plate between blade and handle seems to be plastic. The blade angle and chisel grind means that it has to be used differently to say, a Skandi grind bushcraft knife. It will dig in, as you'd expect, while upside down, it can be used like a plane to take off fine shavings. Cuts really great notches in wood. To me it screams wood-carving as a supplement to my other tools . I think of it as an angled hand chisel. The steel is great, blade is sharp and easy to sharpen and the Japanese writing just...cool! A bargain for the money.
A great little knife, very sharp pour of box and best value at a tenner. If you want a great around the house utility blade then this is a great choice.
