Fallkniven Taiga knives are distinctive hunting and all-round knives for the demanding user. A strong, thick blade in laminated cobalt steel does not only mean a stable function but you notice quite quickly that the edge holds the sharpness really well without being brittle. The reason is the fine, heat treated and tempered steel but also the convex grind that is not only strong but also incredibly sharp. The ergonomic shape of the handle provides a secure grip regardless of weather and wind.

The Hunter is the smaller of the Taiga series with a compact blade with an impressive "up-sweep" perfectly suited to skinning tasks and anything else you'd care to throw at it. This is the Fallkniven Taiga TH2 Hunter Zytel.

What is a bit special about these knives is the ultra secure polymer sheath where a specially designed locking system ensures that the knife is properly locked when it is placed in the sheath.

    Flawless

Beautiful clean design. Worth collecting even if you do not plan to use! Sheath works very well - it is the new kind with the locking mechanism, not the old kind that rattles and feels insecure. The handle is very ergonomic with a good grip. The blade shape and edge geometry are great. This is one of the smaller and cheaper Fallkniven models but is probably the best - a perfect first entry into what is a great range of high end knives.

    Great

This one much sharper than the first. Once sharpened the first one is brilliant this one great from the box. Very sturdy, practical sharp knife.

    Spoilt by blunt edge

Its a lovely ergonomic knife, and a very useable size. Great sheath, easy to clean knife and sheath. The only downside was it was as sharp as a butter knife. Wouldn't cut anything. But after quite a lot of work it's really sharp. I've ordered another as a project knife as it's got so much potential, just a shame the factory edge is so poor. If you bought it to use out the box that's not going to happen. Maybe the second one one will be better and I got a dud. Watch this space!

    Poor

This would be a good butter knife. Bluntest knife I've ever bought. Won't even attempt to cut paper. So much for razor sharp cobalt steel. I'll have to sharpen it. If you don't have sharpening stones avoid! Very sturdy ergonomic tool, maybe it's a safety knife?
