Fallkniven Taiga knives are distinctive hunting and all-round knives for the demanding user. A strong, thick blade in laminated cobalt steel does not only mean a stable function but you notice quite quickly that the edge holds the sharpness really well without being brittle. The reason is the fine, heat treated and tempered steel but also the convex grind that is not only strong but also incredibly sharp. The ergonomic shape of the handle provides a secure grip regardless of weather and wind.

You'll struggle to find a knife with better steel at this price

What is a bit special about these knives is the ultra secure polymer sheath where a specially designed locking system ensures that the knife is properly locked when it is placed in the sheath. The Fallkniven Taiga TF2 Forester Zytel.

    Top drawer all round knife

    Posted by T on 28th Jul 2022

I got the smaller Taiga TH2 which, whilst small, is strong and capable enough for most tasks. Loved it so much I decided to get its bigger Taiga brother as a set. The TF2 is also flawless, except that the sheath does rattle a little even though it is the sheath with the lock. I think this is because the knife is heavier and the lock is not strong enough to stop longwise movement. This is a small issue for me. The knife itself is beautiful. The longer length, thicker stock and different blade profile clearly extends the range but the size and weight are not excessive and so do not lose the flexibility you get with smaller knives. I am very happy having the set as a collection of two beautiful high end knives. For use I would say you do need both because of the overlap in capability. Whichever one you go for these are both in my view the best models in the Fallkniven range in terms of high end value.

It does live up to the hype!

So pleased i did go for it with this Knife a full Tang slab of Lam COS with a 120mm blade, comfy handle and serviceable sheath for 145 quid! First thing i did was baton through a big bit of nasty hard, cross-grained wood, make feathers from it and strike a Firesteel with it (i don't do this with all my knives but this should be able to handle it, which is why i bought it!). The knife dealt with these tasks no problem and the edge was immaculate afterwards. Following that i prepped my dinner with it chopping onions and carrots went smoothly.. Today i carved a spoon with it. It chopped well to remove stock. handled detail work and the belly behind the tip hollowed out the bowl easily. Well pleased indeed. Amazing service from Heinnie once again!

    The ‘Goldilocks’ Fallkniven

Posted by Larry on 16th Oct 2020

I promised myself that in Fallkniven ever released an S1 in COS steel, I would buy it immediately. This isn’t quite that, but its close enough . Its a really lovely knife, the handle is fantastic, looks great and very comfortable, the grip is firm, but somehow soft when you hold it. The blade size and shape is good as well - 4.7 inches long so between the F1 & S1. It is also 5mm thick which i prefer to the 6mm thickness on the S1 Pro & X series. There really is nothing to fault with it so far including the sheath which has been upgraded and has a good lock with no rattle. The price is even cheaper than the S1 which has VG10 as opposed to the COS steel. It is great value for what you are getting. Very happy with the purchase
