Fallkniven Taiga knives are distinctive hunting and all-round knives for the demanding user. A strong, thick blade in laminated cobalt steel does not only mean a stable function but you notice quite quickly that the edge holds the sharpness really well without being brittle. The reason is the fine, heat treated and tempered steel but also the convex grind that is not only strong but also incredibly sharp. The ergonomic shape of the handle provides a secure grip regardless of weather and wind.

This version of the Forester model has a stunning Desert Ironwood handle with the full tang exposed, displaying it's innate strength to all. Each one has an individual number stamped onto the back spine. This is the Fallkniven Taiga TF1 Forester Desert Ironwood.

You'll struggle to find a knife with better steel at this price.

What is a bit special about these knives is the ultra secure polymersheath where a specially designed locking system ensures that the knife is properly locked when it is placed in the sheath.

Good material, but not what i expected.

Posted by Tim W on 4th Jan 2021

I really want to like this knife but I'm not entirely sure about a couple of things. The end of the handle has very sharp 90degree edges which can dig into the hand. The sheath sits with a nice low profile and the lock is great, but the two friction buttons actually dent the iron wood after some use. So the sheath is not entirely suited to the knife. I do love the neck carry though. The blade and steel looks and cuts great, keeps a nice edge but the balance is quite far back, just before the finger grove/ first ridge of the finger grove, which to me seems off. I have yet to use it properly out in the field, so I'll see what i think of it then. Its not quite what i expected, but still a beautiful knife. I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt and see how i feel after a few months of use. Push comes to shove I may sand down those sharp edges slightly.

An absolutely beautiful elegant knife, it came extreanly sharp and after a moderately heavy day of use, stropped back to shaving sharp very easily. The sheath is a bit of a disappointment for such an expensive knife, but the knife is excellent.
