The Fallkniven Northern Light Idun NL5L is as attractive as it is effective especially in the hands of the experienced hunter. When it comes to the Fallkniven Northern Light Series nothing has been spared to make this knife as strong, beautiful and comfortable as possible.
This impressive blade is offered now with CoS laminate steel. On the outer is 420J2 stainless which is a low-carbon high chromium alloy steel used due of its strength and virtually corrosion-free properties. The core inner is a newly developed Cobalt Special Steel (CoS) which is capable of an extraordinarily sharp edge. Plus it is protected by the stronger outer layers. It is the perfect knife blade set-up.
The beautiful handle consists of specially selected stacked ox-hide that gives a sure and rugged grip. It ages with elegance and as the years pass it acquires an attractive brown patina. The handle is unaffected by oil and solvents and impervious to water. When the oxhide drys out, small cracks on the handle can appear, but they disappear when the knife is put to use again.
