Exotac set out to produce the first rugged, waterproof, refillable lighter on the market and that goal was achieved with the Exotac titanLIGHT. The titanLIGHT is a precision machined, ultra-durable waterproof lighter that uses standard lighter fluid as fuel. Two o-ring seals prevent your fuel from evaporating or leaking when it's not in use.
The titanLIGHT uses patent pending air vents below the flame to reduce wind disturbance along with a flame guard that is designed to provide maximum protection against wind gust. A small screw-off cap on the bottom of the lighter body is used to both refill with lighter fluid and to service the wick. The flame guard can also be removed without tools by pressing the small brass pin through while holding the flame guard down.
To refill, unscrew the bottom cap and be careful not to overfill. To replace the flint, simply press the small brass pin through while holding the flame guard down then pull off the flame guard to access the flint and spring. Watch for small spring and remainder of the flint to fall out.

It does leak even when not overfilled if you keep it in a pocket the fluid expands i think however i have put a bit of cotton wool in the lid just enough so it will still screw down and that seems to have cured it so just thought i would review it again to share that information
If you smoke this lasts about the same time as a zippo but uses less fuel to fill it which seems odd as it is quite big and looks like it would hold more , Obviously it will last for a long time after the zippo has dried up if you don't use it a lot, I found it's actually not very wind resistant at all the zippo is much better in that respect, I do prefer that i can attach this to something with the lanyard hole though
Lovely engineering, I wanted a forever lighter and appreciate the theory behind a Zippo but they always seem to run dry when you need them . I trust this not to. I’ve teamed this up with a little albumin pill box filled with flints and a ten pack of wicks I reckon I’m set up for life.
I didn' t buy from HH as they had run out of the orange version but I am comparing it with my HH purchased copper Maratac peanut XL. The Titan is very well made , waterproof to 1 metre. Unlike Zippo there is no fuel evaporation, so it keeps its fuel for months. Where the Titan light beats Maratac is that is larger and so lasts longer, it has a Zippo style wind guard and a full size flint wheel which the new Maratac XL doesn't. The Titan lights only down fall over Maratac or Zippo is that it doesn't come in sexy Copper, Titanium or Brass
Being 40 and having used and destroyed many lighters I use the orange unit for log burner lighting daily many sometimes several ignitions per day. I went through a flint in 10 months and the head slides off with a pin push through and is sprung perfectly. The zippo fluid liquid rather than gas lasts for months. I love zippo in terms of feel and flick open and my girlfriend hated using this lighter as it’s no turbo flame and does need a degree of air movement protection if camping and want to be held more vertical than horizontal than inverted but it just works and is like my air pods, solid and dependable. Super light kit even flooded with fuel, a good feel and easy to open and no leakage issues at all.
Just a quality lighter! Highly recommend to own.
Best lighter ever owned …
