Awesome bit of kit well worth a look

This was more of an impulse purchase (often happens when browsing site) as i already have 2 knives which would do the same job and fit the same category (Fallkniven F1 and TOPS Field knife - both exceptional and worth a look if un-decided) Have wanted to jump on the ESEE band wagon for a little while as i had seen good reviews and have read a few things by Jeff Randall and Mike Perrin about adventure travel. The laser strike really stood out from the other ESEE knives and i really liked the spear pint design. Knife has turned into a go to an it is a joy to use, the handles are comfortable and sheath well made with a locking mechanism, i have since added the optional pouch to the front and it has become a solid tool when teaching bushcraft or needing a fixed blade on camp. The compact solution fits my philosophy of use and keeps all those useful items like fire starting kit at hand which is why it will be accompanying me on next set of travels. The knife is coated and a liberal wipe with some Marine tuff cloth will stop any corrosion, i have filed the back spine and it throws sparks that rival the F1, some gun blue has been applied to protect it. Slightly thinner profile than the B.O.B by tops means it is slightly more versatile and the weight puts it between an F1 and B.OB which means it becomes a bit of a jack of all trades. The fire kit in the handle is a novelty addition but the ferro rod is ok and the tinder quick always useful, will keep it there just in case. A striker notch on spine and ferro rod loop on sheath would be in my view a more practical addition .

    Esee Laser Strike

I saw a written review of the L.S. online, one of the many available. And the expert reviewer from the USA wanted a "lightweight" survival knife. So he took it into the "wilderness" and tested it. It was his only tool. He was able to make a shelter for the night, make a fire, and make a meal. He was as happy as Larry. It's only weak-spot was chopping tasks, but he still did it, it just took longer than a Esee 5, for example. So I got one. Blade - just under 5". Handle - 5" long. Stock - 4.95mm thick. Balance point - at the first scale bolt. All specs. approx. It has a nice handle, that is perfect for "choke-up" grip. Thanks to HH for a great price. I am very pleased with my purchase !
