Cold Steel Recon I Mini Spear Point 18

I don't often do reviews but I have to for this knife, arrived today as birthday present to myself! I have to sharpen most knives to my standards from new but not this. Shave hair- check. Push cut note paper - check. Wood curls (feather sticks) check. Cut thumb carelessly one handed opening check. Food prep check. This knife is sharp out of the box, light, has a good (not too stiff) pocket clip, four finger grip and the best lock system. If you want a good edc knife and can justify carrying a lock blade this is it.

Cold Steel Mini Recon Spearpoint Really nice EDC from Cold Steel. It's discreet, and comes with ambidextrous pocket clips(Bit stiff but not overly so. Well made). The shape of the subtlely textured grivory/FRN handle gives good grip and my hand fits nicely into the grooves. I've got big hands but its still a good fit. The lanyard hole is a nice touch which also helps towards the overall grip when you add a lanyard. It's light as well. The 3 inch Aus10 blade is razor sharp with a lovely tip point. I have a few Cold Steel knives, and I like their spear point and drop point blades. This one is no exception Its excellent! The thumb stud size and position makes it easy to open. The TriAd lock system makes this ridiculously strong and safe. For a compact piece of kit you get a lot of knife. Great price and great quality!.. A lovely piece! Well pleased with this. Agree with the other positive comments. Bought the spear point to use and will be back for tge clip point as soon as I can.

Excellent build quality and sharp right out of the box...I own two Recon 1 full size models and this is equal to them... Comfortable to hold with the usual secure lock up... Excellent service from HH, I'm very happy...

Love my new Cold Steel Recon 1 mini. Working in a brewery i need a tough well made knife that keeps an edge and this knife does the business. HH were swift with delivery and I am always extremely happy with their service.

Well made folder. Arrived sharp OTB and a quick strop made it razor. Slices well. Solid lock-up. Handle is relatively thin and more so if one removes the pocket clip. Note, came with one pocket clip - lefties beware. Glass reinforced nylon scales provide just enough grip and are visibly reinforced with skeletonised stainless steel liners - reassuring. CS quality has been maintained in a compact and usable package. Recommended.

First cold steel I have bought since the company change build quality is good blade is centered in the handle scales seems all good first one in collection in aus10 as well so looking forward to using it and giving it a run for the money Have to say though it's the 1st cold steel i have had that's been moderate sharp won't even shave the hair from the back of my arm the grind isn't too even either as a take over think will leave cold steel for a bit yet and let them get the QC sorted out Apart from that HH brilliant service ordered sent out Wednesday received it Thursday many thanks

Sharp straight out of the box. Very good lock and fits my hand really well. My new favourite pocket knife until the next one.

Bought as a gift. Upon inspection of the knife the fit and finish is great and the lockup is solid with no blade play. Perfect size for carry and most cutting tasks. A knife to last a life time. Great value. The Aus10 steel should also be easy to sharpen.
