It may be called the mini recon but this is still a full size pocket knife with a 3" blade and scales that would fit all but the very large hand very well. Cold Steel are the masters of hard use folders and the triad lock gives you the very best of lockup. I find the tanto blade superb for most applications and am 100% confident it would require severe misuse/abuse to damage it in any conceivable way. A sensible sized folding knife as the full size recon tanto is so big that I would be choosing a fixed blade anyway. As with all cold steel blades it arrived very sharp & with a quick strop became scalpel sharp in 3 minutes. Excellent all round and after a month of regular use is retaining its edge very well. Update to previous review Everything I said still stands plus strikes a fire steel very well (use the blade not the spine) and be careful of the point, its higher than most folding knives and Ive stabbed myself several times (not badly) accidentally.

Quality 3 inch bladed tanto. Nice handle but could be thicker. Excellent Tri Ad lock. Good quality stonewash blade But pinch point between rear of blade and handle. Mine has a (tiny) chip out of the secondary edge - but no biggie as I bought it to use and I really like it. Possibly overpriced but very likeable. Lanyard hole tight for paracord but usable. Recommended.
