I bought the CS Recon Tanto which I’ve discovered is probably the only knife that myself or anyone needs. However I want the spear point ! I’m buying it! Does anyone have accommodation for a proud owner/divorcee
This knife is solid! The locking mechanism is so good, gives you the confidence to treat it roughly if required, comfortable in the hand and well balanced also. Razor sharp out of the box too. Definitely recommend if you want a slightly larger folder for bigger tasks and don’t want a fixed blade to carry around.
Bought this after a bit of research on quality 'must have' knives that have been tried and tested. Heard that cold steel had recently been sold so decided to get this bad boy in case quality is reduced in the future. Was not disappointed. Usual extremely quick and efficient HH service, blade was razor sharp out of the box. Gave it a slight touch up with diamond and ceramic sharpening and it will cut through anything. Give the blade a bit of TLC with some oil and it operates like a dream. Blade quality and geometry are spot on, edge retention is very good. Only a quick touch up on the ceramic needed really. Locking mechanism initially a bit stiff but that works it's way out after a while. The Tri-Ad lock is one of the main reasons for buying this, a solid firm locking mechanism. Can be operated one handed with the thumb stud and closed one handed once you get the trick. It's a LARGE blade but the knife is light enough to hold and manipulate for standard hammer grip / finger grips. The handle is very well designed ergonomically for bare hands / gloves. The finger / thumb positioning is spot on and there's enough real estate left at the base of your hand should you require a reverse grip (and your thumb sits nicely for that). There's a well positioned small hold for a lanyard too. The only down side is the usual trouser destroying clip! But that seems universal with cold steel. Overall a real workhouse, solidly constructed knife with great locking mechanism, blade geometry and blade quality. You'd be soft not to have one of these in your collection.
After several recommendations and reviews oon YouTube decided to add to the collection . Not disappointed. Definitely lived up to the reputation of build quality .
Outstanding quality as allways it performs as you would expect very sharp and keeps its edge well
Very very light considering. Sweet spot in size.
This is my 3rd knife in the recon range came very sharp the only disappointment there is no XL version next day delivery all good
I have had mine for countless years now - more than five but probably no more than 10. It is the knife that comes with me on every trip, it isn't always the only one I take depending on what I'm doing and sometimes it might not even get used, but there are plenty of times when it has been the only knife I have taken and it has definitely seen some use! I have done things to this knife that most people wouldn't consider doing with a folder. It has held up and still works like a charm. A proper workhorse.
