The Black Fox Ciol could soon become one of your EDC favourites. Designed by Denis Simonutti, you just know that this is going to be a well balanced tool.

With a satin 7cm non-locking blade of stainless 440C, this knife is comfortably UK-friendly carry (the legal limit for UK carry is 7.6cm). Weighing in at only 100g, we like the way the belly of the blade curves up, elegantly mirroring the finger choil.

This model, the Black Fox Ciol Micarta is available with a choice of green or brown canvas micarta scales.

    My new favourite edc

Posted by Dave on 10th Jul 2023

Can't think of anything negative to say about this knife. A good size and lightweight for edc. Really like the aged look of the green micarta & the blade shape. Descent enough steel. My only reservation before purchase was how well the blade would hold without a finger choil. This has the most positive blade hold of any slipjoint I've owned, with a good snap into place. As final touch I've added a Kwik stud for 1 handed opening. Perfection.

    Brilliant Knife

This is my favourite knife of the few that I own. Perfect for daily carry and works well for boxes, apples and any other task I have put it to.

    Black fox ciol

Brilliant knife. I have been looking at one for a while now and decided to pull the trigger. Glad I did. Excellent knife for the money. Razor sharp out of the box and speedy delivery. The stop on the blade is really good and the back spring is nice and solid no chance of it just closing up on you.

Great little pocket folder with a tight 2 stage folding/opening mechanism which means no accidental closing and accidental cuts

    BLACK FOX CIOL MICARTA

Posted by Fruityfrog on 10th Nov 2021

This UK carry able knife is absolutely lovely. The detentions for the blade work really very well. I just love the blade shape with a slightly deeper belly. This of course helps when cutting is taking place. Just looked the shape of a traditional Gurkha blade. Made for deep cutting. I'm not for one minute suggesting that this little knife is in anyway like a Gurkha knife. Just that the slightly deeper bellied design is very nice to look at whilst being very good at carrying out the tasks for which it is designed for. I bought the green micata scaled handle version. I think that this is perfect for me. The grip of the handle is superb for me. I however have long skinny hands so all four fingers fit the handle very well. I do though think that even people with larger hands will also get on quite well with this small to medium pocket knife. It doesn't have a pocket clip, instead it has its own deep sheath, made out of good quality thick leather. The knife gets well gripped by this sheath and goes all the way in. Because it's swallowed, once the knife has been inserted, I put a small length of paracord to be able to remove it again. If you buy one, I really don't see anyone being anything other than delighted. Hennie as always virtually delivering before buying. So, five

Not bad but not great either

Posted by Jenko on 13th Apr 2021

Nice little knife but didn’t fill me with confidence. Smaller than I was expecting but nevertheless it was the rather weak back spring that I found most disappointed in. The micarta scales appeared lighter one side than the other which took a bit away from the quality which is a shame. Not terrible, but not really one for me
