One of Benchmade's quintessential folding knives and a really popular model in this "Mini" form.

The Benchmade 945 is a more conventional palm sized folding knife with all the same outstanding qualities as its big brother, the 940, which has been a massively popular seller over the years since it was introduced in 2000.

Few knives have maintainesd such a consitent popularity for such a long time. We were delighted to hear that Benchmade had shrunk the fabulous 940 down to form this, the Benchmade 945 Mini Osborne, which is a much more popular size for the discerning knife buyers of the UK. The Benchmade 945 soon made it to number four in the Heinnie®Best Seller charts, reinforcing its popularity.

The Mini Osborne features Benchmade's famous AXIS locking mechanism which is one of the safest on the market. The blade is a reverse tanto style with ambidextrous thumb studs and is CPM S30V stainless steel. The handle is a very attractive combination of anodized 6061 T6 aluminium, stainless steel liners and coloured anodized Titanium spacers.

    Good purchase

A good knife a little smaller than initially thought, think slightly larger than victorinox pioneer. However this is now a positive much more user friendly. Clearly it looks great and really like the grippy handle.

    Disappointing.

After having held-off buying a Benchmade, I figured this little folder would be a good entry point. I've only ever read rave reviews by knife fans. It's a nice tool, don't get me wrong, but not really rugged enough. I've had it a week, mostly used it for rigging ropes etc, so light cutting dutys. It's chipped all over, the paintwork/coat is far too easily scratched and blemished. Blade is great, mechanism great. Just a shame it's let down by not being able to handle being knocked about a bit.
