When the wick in your Zippo windproof lighter becomes black from carbon, it’s time for some simple maintenance.
Here’s how: Pull the wick up with pliers until a clean portion of wick appears, cut it off level with the top of the chimney and then straighten the wick in the chimney.
Occasionally, you’ll need to replace the wick – and here’s the replacement wick from Heinnie Haynes. The pack contains one replacement wick, and is supplied with full fitting instructions.
The wick is 100mm (4 inches) long and fits all Zippo Windproof Lighters.
