    The hottest one

Posted by Barnaby James on 24th Jan 2021

Very good warmer that burns nice and hot and consistent. And the refuelling gasket is a much much better design than the competition. A couple things to note though, if you drop it the burner will come off and it will go out immediately so always bring plenty of fire to get it going again. Secondly don't put it down on a very cold surface because the loss of heat will make it go out in a few minutes. And if you interrupt the burn halfway through the cycle it's quite hard to get it going again. I have the zippo warmer as well and the build quality is much better than the whitby, however the whitby is cheaper, burns much hotter and is much more reliable than the zippo warmer. If you want the looks get the zippo. If you want the performance get the whitby.

its a good thing to have in your pocket i have used them for years i just wish they would sell replacement heads asi hate throwing things away that have a lot of use left in them i got some from china a while back and used the one i had for nearly 4 years ans still had good use in it but to have in your pocket to keep one hand warm on an outside fiddly job unbeatable

    Looking for better

Posted by Hullblazer on 12th Jan 2016

I've used one of these for a year now and, if you can get it properly lit, it provides a lot of heat and for quite a while. I am looking for something else as the heads Don't last as long as advertised and I have never achieved the full, 12 hour burn, despite regular use and instruction following. There IS a smell of lighter-fluid but it's not intrusive.

    Whitby Hand Warmer

Posted by andy on 15th Nov 2012

Simple to use, a super item for any outdoors fan. It comes into max fuel burn after a few uses, it's a constant companion this time of year for me as I'm out in the woods a lot, ideal when walking the dog too. p.s. check the fuel cup nozzle is 100% clear before you put fuel in, mine was a 'tad' blocked by a thin bit of plastic, easy fix just poked a pen in there 100% clear now.

    excellent

Posted by John on 2nd Mar 2012

I bought one of these recently during a visit to Whitby. I was disappointed at first as it didn't seem to burn for as long as advertised but after a few cycles it can last well over 12 hours. I've marked it down one star from a perfect 5 as I'm not that fond of the smell of the fuel. Other than that it is a perfect daily companion during the current cold spell.
